  • Does anyone own a Canik TP9

If so, what do you think of the gun?

now why do you want a muslim(Turkey) made Walther? Walther (German) makes them too.

I think the same designer who did the Glock also designed the Canik.

there's the TP9SA, that's a single action only, as opposed to the kind of DA/SA TP9 version. on the TP9SA it's either round in the chamber, SA, ready to fire or it's decocked and you need to rack a round in to get it loaded again. does any of that make sense? probably best to leave gun design to the Germans at Walther. or go get an S&W 9VE (most under rated gun ever on sale--- http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...6%2B1+9mm+4%22 $319! for the price of a Gen 4 Glock you can buy 2. )

Turkey is a NATO ally and I can buy this high capacity 9mm firearm for half of what I'd pay for Walther. If the cops confiscate it after I ventilate some perp I wouldn't be out much. What's in a name. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. What I want to know is how it shoots. (With apologies to the Bard.)

The only time that I intend to decock the gun is when I disassemble it for cleaning. Shouldn't be a problem.

It was very accurate & 100% reliable. Felt great in the hand , recoil was minimal &sights were adequate. How's that for a Turkish rose? :-P

I have no interest in the TP9SA. I don't like guns that have a trigger dingus. Can you say Glock? Not with a straight face. Only a sheepherder would own a Glock.

I'm shooting in a few weeks with my buddy that owns it & I'll take pics & post a report here...

You know what, nevermind what I said earlier, I was thinking of the Caracal made in the Arab Emirates. I think the Canik is much like a CZ Clone.

so when ISIS comes for your head your going to plug them with a muslim gun? I'd take the gun apart for a good cleaning and disinfecting before shooting. lube it for reassembly with fresh bacon grease, maybe store the gun in a box of garlic to ward off the evil ju-ju. americans don't care where their dollars go, they just want to buy junk for cheap(look at the success of walmart and china).

now anybody who is a Kahr fan should know about the sister company, Magnum Research and their variation of the Walther P99 platform, the MR9 Eagle.

please spend your $ buying american (union)made goods and services.

I'd love to shoot a member of ISIS with a Muslim gun. That would be poetic justice. They don't seem to have any trouble with killing Americans with American weapons. Hell yes, I want a Muslim gun. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all ISIS terrorists are Muslim. I learned that from a liberal acquaintance of mine. I'm into diversity ya know. I kill with little or no discrimination.
