I looked at both, the 7 shot is near same size. The cylinder outside diameter is almost identical, they change spacing of rounds to keep down the overall size. I will never part with the model 686+ or my model 60 [it's been Magnaported and shoots awesome]."Life Member NRA"

I'll not try to talk someone out of buying a new gat, but you might reconsider your Speed Six after putting better grips on it. New shoes can make a big difference....besides, I'm partial to the SixOriginally posted by JohnR View PostI have a 2 1/4" SP101 and a 3" Speed Six. The Six is heavy and the grips suck, but I'm ordering some better grips for it. The 101 is my EDC right now. I'd like something that shoots .357 really nicely, and that I can abuse without feeling bad, hence the GP100 with the trench sights. The 3" GP100 weighs about the same as the Speed Six, on paper at least.

I had these grips on a speed six. They were very comfortable. You can find them on fleabay. Ever think of something a bit more exotic, like a 329 Nightguard, or one of those light weight Smith's? I've been getting a revolver itch of late and have been looking at the S&W 586 and the 586 comp. I don't know all of the numbers, but if I could find a 586 in a 3 in. that would be the $#it. In stainless or blue...........Attached Files

Oh yeah, I'm multi lingual. Actually that's Fonzy dialect Latin to be precise.
You must be a bit worldly yourself to recognize it.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

I rented both today. A 686 6-round with 4" barrel, and the 3" GP100. Both had the same accuracy for me, and once the live ammo started flying I could not tell enough difference between the two to matter. I know, pearls before swine. I haven't shot my 4" GP in a while, but I remember it taming .357 better than either of these.
Tomorrow I'm trying the new Pachmayr grips on the SP101, and the Hogues on the Speed Six. Maybe a new wheelie isn't where I'm headed after all...
