Found a new GP100 3" for $490 and could not pass it up. It'll probably be here in about a week, hopefully less.

There. I think I've satisfied my revolver itch. Just got the GP100 home and put on the Hogue non-finger groove grip, which looks just about perfect and feels great.
And I got some Pachmayr grips for the Speed Six, which also feel and look about perfect. Can't wait to shoot these.
Between these and my SP101 snubbie, they all actually fit in the same Sticky brand holster. Not all at once, of course; that would be silly. My Galco leather belt-slide holster fits both the GP and Speed, too.

It's been almost a year and the idea in the original post is sorta happening. I've been enjoying the 3" GP100 very much, but the Smith Itch is just too great. I picked up a police trade-in Model 67 (4" .38+P) for $350, and it's amazing. Then I learned that S&W makes a K frame .357 with a 2 3/4" barrel, the Model 66. I have just ordered one.
The Speed Six was driving me nuts, the action was binding a lot. In a pique of frustration I traded it for something, can't remember what it was now. The 66 is almost the exact same size but lighter.

I'm looking for a revolver right now, got the itch...........................looking for a trade, but so far, no takers. I wouldn't mind a 66 myself, or a 60, or an older 586, or a 686, or an SP101. I had a beautiful speed six stainless in 9mm. It was one of those that I NEVER should have sold.

I solved my most recent revolver itch with a Model 15 combat masterpiece. Picked it up from a guy in a powered wheelchair at the last gun show. Very nice trigger, so good that I would not use it for SD, as the single action is like two and a half pounds... Too light with the adrenalin pumping. A touch rough around the edges, but no pitting or unfixable issues. I'll just shoot it as is for now and we shall see what the future brings.I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
"Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?

I probably would. I think I was born a 100 years too late or something. If a revolver has a hammer, I'll cock it nearly every time.
I have to force myself to shoot DA some so I know what it acts like.
My preference is single action revolvers anyhow so guess it's a good thing.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

It is a fun gun too shoot though and should be popular with any new shooters I take to the range.I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".

I'd have no issue at all carrying a SA. I do sometimes carry my Birdshead Uberti 45 Colt. One of my favorite guns.
I don't carry it often but I don't feel handicapped (well guess I always am) with it on my hip.
Don't take much time to pull that hammer back if your accustomed to it.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

Coming to the realization that I am getting older and should start planning for my visit with 72 virgins, I have recently sold most of my Semi's (kept my German Sig P226 and M11A1, and PM9) in favor of wheelguns which my family understands and will most likely keep after my demise. The plus side of my decision was I have a stash full of cash to finance any new revolver that comes along. In the last couple of months a Kimber K6S and 3"656+ Talo found a new home in my safe.
Remembering accuracy counts more than round count I have been practicing at 75' with these short barreled gun and finding them to be quite accurate especially the 3" guns which I actually shoot better than the 4" models I have. Yea, I do get called "old school", or "Barney" when I show up at work but when we get to qualifying time...
Although I don't own one, (yet), anybody hankerin' for a wheelgun may want to cast their eyes on the new 2-3/4" barrel S&W K frame in .357 Mod 66 or the Mod 69 L frame in 44 mag. Other than a few quirks in the color of the hammer, ejector rod, and trigger, these would really make a fun all around gun."Never pet a burning dog"

"stash full of cash"
I hope I can experience that someday before they nail the lid shut. I just kept reading it over and over and over.
Run with it buddy, I got your back on this one. Happy for you.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

Well, thanks to the North Dakota oil bypass pipeline recently being given the go-ahead by Trump and is now transporting light sweet crude to points east cheaper than before, there will be a little extra green in the gun kitty - at least until y'all start running around in 'lectric cars.A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition
