    Gyrojet pistol explained

    Here's a video about the Gyrojet Rocket Pistol and its shortcomings for defensive use. My only experience with the Gyrojet was with the "jungle penetrator" versions of the pen flare used in SEA. I managed to bring one back with me. I lost the screw-on Gyrojet adapter before using the last flare, so I improvised by cutting a nail and pushing it into the plastic cover that went on the base of the rocket flare. I then dropped the flare into a shotgun barrel vertically sitting on the driveway as you would do a mortar and the Gyrojet ignited and took off... fun!

      I like the muzzle velocity of about 10... TEN feet per second... not so good for close work!
