  • After Christmas present for me, a new plinker

Well the after Christmas boogeyman got me, been looking at the Browning Buck Mark for awhile and just so happens one of my local gun stores had them on sale. In my eyes I thought the Buck Mark was well designed, I liked that when the slide open it was open on both sides thinking that it would help blow some of the crap out of the gun when fired. It sits next to my Sig 1911-22 which is a nice plinker gun also. So with it being on sale it fit my budget today, so many guns too little money for today and they did have a good assortment of firearms and they have real good prices. Have to save up again and take another ride over there. So that’s it freshly cleaned from the box now waiting for a range trip.

    Harrylee,
Congrats on the new Buck Mark. I'm a fan of them myself.
If you are not already aware of it, you might want to research the "Heggis Flip"
There's a step by step for it on this page: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...=174356&page=4

I’m ahead of you Greg, checked the trigger before I took it apart for cleaning and saw 5lb 10oz
got all the packing grease clean out and flipped the spring and wow easiest trigger job I ever did. It came in at 2lb 10oz, did my homework before I even bought it. But thanks for thinking of me

Hard to beat a Buckmark. Lots of great shooting ahead there. The 1911-22 is a nice shooter too. More accurate than I expected. Two fine plinkers there.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

Looks like the Buck Mark and the Ruger Mark series are the two top target 22's out there. Some say this, some say that. The Ruger was more money but for the price the Browning was a deal, like the fact the barrel can be swapped out is a plus with no trouble. And heard guys with the Ruger went with expensive trigger parts to get them dialed in, the trigger on the box stock gun is great just flipped the sear spring and it feels like a match gun to me. As far as taking a gun down for cleaning, that doesn’t bother me at all. When I take my 1911 to the range the first thing when I get home is to break it down into tiny pieces like this.

Now I’m chomping at the bit to take this little beauty to the range with my 45, but the 45 puts bigger holes in the target and easier to see for my old eyes. But I can see a place for this little 22

Nice buy Harrylee. CDNN has them at a good price right now. I have spent too much this month on other shooting irons though...

                Enjoy the plinking!
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
                "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
                "more stuff than you are"

Hum that looks familiar to me, think I did one of those once or twice. The test is to get this new Buckmark to do that. High hopes, old eyes and a little luck will make my day
