  • Greg,Greg Marlin 357 Mag/44 Mag??? I need to know!

Was just window looking not even shopping just to see what they are getting on my early marlin 1894 357. And I ran across this, wow never seen this before. Is this some wild cat one of a kind or did marlin make this!!! Did they take a 44 receiver and put a 357 barrel on it?!?

As far as I know, they were conversions. You used to see them on Marlin forums (still do to some extent).
Bain and Davis in San Gabriel CA did the conversion on handguns and rifles (as you surmised, 44 receiver/357 barrel).
I seem to remember reading they sold the shop to someone else, but can't vouch for that.

There are others folks doing the conversions now:

    Here's a page from Hornady:

That's nice, but will it shoot 44sp/38sp too???
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
      "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
      "more stuff than you are"
      God Bless our Troups!
