  • History of the CZ Rami

I thought this was a very interesting article on the history of the CZ Rami. Interesting pictures on the right of the page also that includes the Colt Z40.

Image below is for eye candy while reading.

The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Thanks a lot. After purchasing two CZ in a week I gave series consideration to a Rami. After 160 joyful rounds through the 97B it needed a return trip to the mothership for numerous problems. Been sitting on CZ's repair bench since March 1 waiting for parts from the homeland. They will replace the pistol but none in stock. Sooo, the urge for a Rami has lessened.

Having provided that "interesting" bit of reading material on the RAMI, I'd like to offer a bit of informaton as well.

Due to the compact size of this gun, the recoil spring assembly is under a lot of stress during operation.

Several sources indicate that it should be replaced every 1500 rounds if using the RAMI as a carry weapon. Like some models of Kahrs, it has also been found that the inner recoil spring lasts much longer than the outer spring, so many folks just replace the outer spring, and/or keep spare outer springs.

Finding recoil springs can be tough for the RAMI. The 3 sources I've found are CZ-USA, Midway USA, and Cajun Gun Works. All three sources often are out of stock, so when you find them, it's a good idea to buy a few to keep for spares. They're pretty cheap too.

Right now, CZ-USA has the outer springs in stock.....

Thanks for that info. I figure mine has about 500 rounds now, 350 by me.

I’m always looking for a reason to make another CGW order so I’ll keep my eye out there.
