  • Amazon pricing and RIT dye

I wanted to try a different style grip on my CZ75B, so I looked on Amazon and found the style I wanted to try.
I wasn't really blown away with the color selections available, but the "cherry" ones were $10 cheaper than the other colors so I went with them. Upon receipt, I liked the grips but kind of wished I had went with a different color. Anyway, I had some dark brown RIT dye still on hand from another project so I used that on the cherry grips. As I didn't take a "before" photo, I went to take a screen shot of the grips on Amazon and see that now all the colors are what I paid for the cherry set. I might have been a little peeved with that, but thought that often when I buy something on Amazon, find I like it, then go to order more, the price has increased. It's nice to see that sometimes the opposite occurs. It also helps that I like the dyed grips quite a bit

I try to learn something new every day. If you had posted this in the morning, I coulda stopped a long time ago!

Seriously, though, I just learned something new. I never thought of dying G10 grips with RIT dye.

And, I think they look great!

    Thanks for sharing!

I like the style of those grips. Funny I just got back from shooting my SP-01 that has been neglected for some time. It still has the original rubber grips. How thin are those grips? They look pretty thin.

Oh by the way, a friend of mine just picked up a Shadow 2 and I got to hold it. Man those grips are thin but aggressive. I bet they shoot good. Didn’t you get one? How do you like it?
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Thanks! RIT dye is pretty versatile. I've had it work well on plastic..wood too. It can be used to color freshly anodized surfaces.

They are pretty thin, thinner than the excellent grips you turned me on to (still have a set on my SP-01 ). Thinner than any of the other 75 grips I have except for those on the Shadow 2. If you consider that they come with decorative torx screw, o-rings, and wrench, I think they are a good deal at the current price

I like the S2 quite a bit. It's probably the best made of the CZ pistols I have. Best double action of them all; second best single action. It's heavy, but it's not something I'll be carrying a lot.

        Best single action:

Nice tactical sport. Is that single action only? That trigger reminds me of the CZ75 SAO.

Good eye there, it is SAO. The trigger is outstanding and it's a very satisfying pistol to shoot, but I think this will be a project gun. I'm leaning towards an adjustable rear sight, better visibility front sight, replacing some polymer parts, and refinishing the frame.

So it's cocked and locked single action or decock? I really need to learn my CZ terminology and model knowledge if I'm gonna hang out with you guys.
I've been looking at them quite a bit. Was looking at a 75B which I think they said was a decocker.

I stumbled on some Shadows that look awesome but with pretty large asking prices too.

I was thinking about adjustable sights for my SP-01 today. I have the SP01 tactical with factory Meprolight night sights. I was shooting from a case of Magtech 9mm I bought and it’s all shooting high at 15 yards. S&B 9mm (Czech made) shoots POA = POI. May have to stick with Czech ammo for my CZ’s.

Lots of plans, little time and money.

I got one a couple of months ago. Finest non-1911 trigger I have ever pulled.
