Johnh, I didn't feel singled out and I'm not in the least offended by your post. The Patriot Act which allowed for warrantless wire taps was a war time measure and wasn't abused by the Bush administration. Through those provisions many terrorist attacks were averted. I am not afraid of the government, because "we the people" are the government and that's something that a lot of us forget. I believe that our constitution was divinely inspired. I have complete faith in our founding fathers and that good will always triumph over evil. Call me a cockeyed optimist, but that's what I believe. I also believe in Samuel Colt. Nuff said.

Muggsy, I recommend the book "America Betrayed" by Diana West.

She shows how the government has bypassed checks and balances for 70 years, and that our government has been of, by, and for the Soviet Poliburo, not us.

My reply to Muggsy was a little terse (sorry, my frustration level is about 10 these days...and I don't mean sexual assh*les.. ) It looks like we have lost the battle on many fronts..rampant govt corruption and abuses across the board. The (so called) president (small p intended) and AG just thumbs their noses and give us the middle finger salute. IRS, EPA,DHS, on and on...all out of control.

I'm no longer confident the "Checks and Balances" will be sufficient to reestablish the Constitutional Republic our forefathers gave us. Obama will not be impeached although there are a ton of reasons he should. Holder will not go to jail, although he should. The IRS big shots will ride off into the sunset with their comfy retirement and benefit plans which we will pay for for the rest fo their lives. Don't get me started on what is going on regarding the taking over of our society by the muzzie extremists and our friends from south of the border.

I know it's a hot button issue. My skin is very thick. I don't take things personally. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think that I earned my creds after serving my country in the military for six years on active duty and as a life member of the NRA since 1972 No harm, no foul. Go in peace.

One of the big underlying causes is that the people voted into office to make laws are exempt from them. No guns, N/A; record snooping, N/A. It was intended to make them objective and think in terms of the greater good of America. Hasn't quite turned out that way.

These are my true thoughts, all kidding aside. I would rather have the government know how often I pick my nose than to endure another incident like that which we experienced on 9/11. I don't have a fokking thing to hide. If you don't vote rat bastard socialist into power then the power won't be abused. If the power is abused we still have the checks and balances provided to us by our forefathers. I refuse to live my life in a constant state of paranoia.

The framers of the US Constitution wrote it that way knowing this was what would happen if deviated from! they were prophetic in their crafting of that document.
