Obama gives himself $500K pay raise.

Obama just signed an Executive order, giving himself a $500,000 a year pay raise. I guess he thinks he doing such a good job he deserves it. Cover ups and lies must be getting more expensive these days.
This on top of the 5 billion dollars or so he's spent on vacations for himself and his family. I guess the sequester didn't hurt as much as he tried to play it up, if he is able to do this. All other presidents have gone through congress to raise their pay, but not our Dictator in chief.
Man it sure would be nice just to sign a document and give yourself a raise. I hope there is something congress can do to prevent this from taking effect.

I'm confused. The House must originate all expenditures which would include salary schedules. The President cannot (at least per the Constitution...) by himself increase anyone's pay, let alone his own. This article does not provide enough details about the mechanics of this. Maybe there was a provision for a cost of living adjustment, but I'm guessing here. But, since Obama promised during the campaign to have the most transparent administration, we'll sure to know the facts real soon now...
