  • Has anyone here read Brad Thor's Black List?

This guy wrote this book in 2012. The story was fictional. It is today's headlines! Data Mining and the power that it brings to those who want to stay in power. A computer system that can calculate so much info about you from Cell Phones, Internet, GPS devices and yes many of today's vehicles!
Intimidating Americans to surrender their freedom for their "Protection" Leading to the government having complete control over the internet and every american being assigned an official government log-in
Thor never seems to cease to amaze. I swear the guy has a crystal ball. This is about the 5th book he wrote that nailed an event similar to something that actually takes place a year or so later.
All of his books are a great Summer read!

History repeats. Orwell knew it was coming too.

They talk so much about Da Vinci, Casey and other "prophets", but Orwell is the one to talk about. I read 1984 in the late '50's. We all got a good chuckle about it. Not so funny now. I feel everyone should read it. The movie was ok but nothing compared to the book. Real eye opener.

They're not too bad in the Winter either...

Orwell's "Animal Farm" was pretty visionary as well, although told as an allegory.

"All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others."

In case you haven't heard...here are two other authors you will like if you enjoy Brad Thor's stuff.

Vince Flynn....read them in order starting with "TERM LIMITS"

Matt Bracken...read in order starting with "ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC"

Brad Thor should also be read in order FWIW

I like Brad Thor's books. I would recommend them all. Despite several inaccuracies, they're really entertaining. I like Flynn also, but think the Thor books are better IMHO.

Fodder.... I prefer Flynn (slightly) as I find his characters are more developed and the hero gets out of his jams in more realistic ways.

Hey, I'll tell ya, they're all better than spending an afternoon at work. The one by Flynn I did really like was the book that went through the recruitment and training of Rapp. Don't remember the title, but it was a good one.
