That really depends upon the judge and how much they will let in. Also in a civil case the burden of proof is much lower. Preponderance of the Evidence vs Beyond a Reasonable doubt.

OJ beat a righteous murder conviction in criminal trial but lost the civil trial. I see that happening if GZ is sued.

Zimmerman drew his pistol and shot Martin as a result of Zimmerman's objectively correct decision that to do otherwise was for him to risk his own death or severe maiming at the hands of a full-grown vicious attacker: Trayvon Martin.

I thought that Martin saw Z's gun while he was on top of him beating on him and smashing his head on the pavement, and tried to get a hold of it and told Z he was going to die. Then while they were struggling over the gun, it went off mortally wounding Martin. This is supported by the fact that there was still the empty brass in the chamber, so the slide was either being held on too, or didn't have room to recoil far enough to eject the empty. If that's true, then I don't think it was a decision that Z made to draw his gun, that decision was made for him by Martin.

Not that it really matters in the scheme of things, Martin is still dead, and people are still having a hissy fit that Z didn't get persecuted more than he already has, and still is.
