Just today an official from Australia commented that the United States was out of control on gun ownership and were making the whole world a unsafe place.

The non-Aboriginals in Aussieland need to remember that ALL native Aussies are descendants of the worst dregs, cuthroats, and scum of England. Australia was a penal colony from which the British Crown figured they would never see any of the prisoners back again. That is why they were sent down under.

When I mentioned that to a pompous tour guide when I was in Australia it created quite a stir and the Aussies on the excursion were pissed at a "Yank" ho' slapping them with the truth.

The Penal Colony was on the Island of Tasmania to the south of the mainland. All the criminals were sent there. (To or near Hobart) I don't think any criminals were sent to the main land of Australia. I went there on a tour trip to Australia about 15 years ago.

Australia, one more place not to go live.

Daughter just came back from there. Went with a student group. She said on her school visit during a farm stay all the teachers and students cussed like sailors, they didn't pay attention to the teacher and all did their own thing, one guy stripped down and changed clothes in the classroom during class, all that stuff. I wonder if that's why they are having their issues. A lack of self discipline in their society.

She did say that swimming the great barrier reef was really cool though.

The redneck kids here where I live have window stickers saying "I'll keep my guns, God, and freedom. You keep the change." I think I'll just stay where I am.
