The President says he wants to lead from behind.
With some consideration, a lot of folks have called this idea a farce, lunacy, irresponsible rhetoric, and an impossibliity.
Was thinking about that today watching the news about BO's retreat before the attack on Syria, and the news pundits were roasting libs about the "leading from behind" talking points.
Seems to me that I can figure two ways off the top of my head to lead from behind.
One way is to rope and harness individuals into conforming to your will. A good example is a team of horses pulling a coach or wagon. They must do the driver's will, and they are forced into a single cohesive unit, where each horse is equal, and no better than the others. Its the team of horses that matters... and the team must be collectively submissive to the driver.
Another way is at the sharp end of a bayonette, affixed to the barrel of a loaded gun. That one man can lead from behind in this manner is clearly seen in the example of Sgt. Alvin C. York in World War One. Sgt. York faced an enemy who had both the guns and the numbers, but through clever deceit, he was able to get the enemy to attack themselves, and eventually tricked the enemy into surrender, and marched over one hundred thirty German soldiers as prisoners of war, at the end of a bayonette on an Enfield rifle that the enemy thought was loaded, but was in fact empty. In short, deception and the installation of fear into greater numbers who were better able to fight, brought the enemy into submission because they actually believed they were beaten, and would suffer grave consequences, even though they could have excaped at any moment.
This is how, our beloved President will lead us from behind.
