Chicago Police Chief threatens CC holders

Chicago Police Superintendent Gary McCarthy made a thinly veiled threat against legal CC permit holders. That his cops will shoot them without hesitation. Seems he is throwing a tantrum since Illinois passed it's CC law.

Probably not a good idea Mr. McCarthy, most CC holders actually practice with their weapons, more than once a year to qualify, and can usually hit what they are shooting at, unlike your police dept.

Apparently he believes that his officers aren't very well trained if he believes that his officers will gun down the law abiding. Apparently he is unaware that crime has gone down where citizens are permitted to carry guns. Apparently he doesn't believe in the constitution that he has sworn to uphold. Apparently he's an idiot who should be fired from his job.

I wonder how many instances of a cop shooting a CC'er has occurred in the articles referenced "49 States"?
I know I've been trained ,within the many classes I've taken, including the first qualifying CC class, what I should do if an unfortunate episode should happen. It sure as hell isn't to point a gun at anyone unless I mean to do business, least of all a cop. If I do I would EXPECT to be shot.

The Cop said something like if an armed individual turns and faces you with a gun in his hand to blow him away, don't wait to see if he has a permit or not, or wait for him to point his weapon at you. Why a permit holder would still have his gun un-holstered after police arrived is beyond me.
Considering intentional crimes committed by CC holders at well under 1%, very few should have a weapon drawn on them in the first place. But it being Chicago, he might very well have just fought off some attackers, or even still in the process, and wouldn't that be lovely to have the cops show up and blow your ass away. I bet lawyers are chomping at the bit to get a wrongful death suit going.

The first thing I was instructed to do in a self defense shooting was to holster my weapon, either when the perp was dead or incapacitated, or as I heard police sirens coming into the parking lot, so I would not be seen as a potential threat.
I sure hope a Chicago cop never gets shot and could use the help of a CC holder, I sure wouldn't pull my gun out to help, and get shot at by the cop, if that's the attitude they are going to adopt. I'd be like AMFYOYO. (Adios M F, you're on your own). Normally, I'd do what I could to help, move him to better cover if I could do so safely, or help return fire or whatever, but not with that attitude. I wouldn't be surprised to see some backlash over this, if it was anyplace but "gun free" Chicago. Maybe even there too. Just sounds like more YOU WILL OBEY type crap to me. A very sad turn of events in my view. Turn people that want to be your friends into your enemies.

ABSOLUTELY!!! Almost all city police chiefs are the political pogues/mouthpieces of the cities that employ them. They have to live in the knee hole of the mayors desk to keep their jobs so they will parrot the party line.
