  • Debating with a libtard

    Just some friendly advice FWIW.

I was visiting some great friends this week. Very conservative, salt of the earth, give you the shirt off their backs kind of people. One of their liberal friends was there and I found them in a passionate debate. Problem is my friends let their passions get the better of them and I could tell by the look on the libtards face he was feeling smug and superior.

It's helpful to remember that many libtards a fairly well educated - just not very smart. So they are more interested in HOW you say something instead of what you are saying. That should be obvious because, if they were smart enough to understand what we are saying, they would agree.

So frame your arguments carefully and maybe we can swing a couple of these idiots.

I've found from talking with my wifes family members, they know nothing of current events. So I try to make them look ignorant by asking them questions about things like this:

So that when they feel ignorant by my questions, they'll go home and look it up to see if I'm right and actually learn how evil their party is.

That's a very biblical point you make there, b4uqzme. (Ephesians 4:15) "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ."

That was an accident I'm sure but thanks!

"Before you (ac)cuse me". It's a blues song made famous by Eric Clapton hence the avatar. The second line is: "take a look at yourself."

I find it a lost cause. If you do get your point across, then they resort to name calling, "You're just Tea Party Republican Idiot" Or "Get your head out of Fox News"
Or start up with the profanity. Very childish for such well educated people.
And many of them are very well educated, so they automatically believe their intellect is superior to yours. Common sense is not something they know or value. And of course EVERYTHING, is the Republican's or even still George W.'s fault. I find one here or there that I have some common ground with, and can talk too, but there is just no changing their mind about politics, and Obama, they sure love him, best president ever. I explained to one, that Obama was going out of his way, closing open air memorials, and things that will cause the most grief on purpose, because he didn't get his way and is making America pay, and all they can do is attack me for watching Fox news and being a Tea Party Republican &*^%*%^^%$. No response at all to what I said, just a personal attack.

I believe the OP resorted to name calling before he got his point across.

I thought it was "before you quiz me". I like Clapton so I should have known better.

Have you read his 2007 Autobiography by Broadway Books?

Indeed I did Sage. You are wise despite what your signature tag says.

I feel your pain TheTman. Just please remember that we don't need to swing everybody. Elections are won by percentages. I'm sorry if I sound preachy but I'm really counting on you, my friends, to help us get every vote possible.

                  Thanks

Yeah. The avatar was supposed to be a clue. That autobiography might be my next read. Thanks for the tip.

If each of us could sway just one liberal the conservatives would win every election. Inside of every liberal there is a compassionate conservative trying to get out.

First we need to stop vote fraud and illegals.

For every one we sway they'll recruit 25.

Thanks! I'm really concerned about the 2014 elections. They can do a lot of damage in 2 years. We gotta do our part.
