Man kills wanted rape suspect, charged with Murder

Hero kills fugitive rape suspect… but since it’s New York, he’s been charged with murder.
They didn't print much info about it, so it's difficult to say what exactly went on. Sounds like the fugitive came out of the woods onto this man's property.

The problem is, he was still only a "suspected rapist", not convicted yet.

You'd think maybe the guy could have held him at gunpoint until the police got there, but then we just had a big to do about holding people at gun point.

An innocent man trespassed and was shot to death, period! Being suspected of something is only guilt in the eyes of Nancy Grace, Dr. Drew and their cronies on the judge, jury & executioner channel.

Example. They showed the video of the woman who was driving and hit a train then really hit by a second train. They didn't know anything but their logic path was 1) she must have been drunk to do that, 2) she must be an alcoholic, 3) alcoholics are often abused so she was abused, 3) women who are abused are often drug addicts so she is a drug addict 4) why wasn't she in rehab? 5) summing it up she is a drug addict alcoholic was left rehab and drove into a train.

He was described as a violent criminal, being chased by heavily armed teams of police. Doesn't sound that innocent to me. What do you want to bet the cops would have shot him if they had the chance. Just sayin.
Doesn't say if he was armed or not, if he was, then I think the homeowner was justified in taking him out, if not, he should have just held him until the cops showed up.
I damned near shot a guy last night. Woke up with my alarm going off at 2am, and a guy in my living room. He was lucky I recognized him. My dipwad boarder had this idiot bring her out a sandwich. When I agreed to let her stay here a couple of weeks, she had a car, but she blew the motor in it, and is stuck out here in the country with no transportation, and I am not going to be her damn taxi service. She's supposed to get a car Monday, and if not, I think she is going to find all her crap out in the carport.

I differ only slightly on the details, but yes. Personally I think a 6 inch lag bolt, dull rusty bow saw and a tree stump would be better than destroying a salvageable outbuilding. Besides tree stumps burn a long time, and nails can be pulled fairly easily.

Other (more mainstream) sites report that he confronted the guy when he came out of the woods... knew who he was, as he was a wanted fugitive and the whole community was on edge, as it was reported that the police lost the guy.

So the guy with the gun says he's gonna take the suspect to a neighbor's house and call the cops (didn't say if he had his own phone or not). Witnesses said the two of them were walking down the road.

At some point, the guy fired four shots... two hit the suspect, the final shot was to the face.

While this might lead you to believe that maybe the guy tried to attack him, take his gun, whatever, the guys own statement wasn't that he was defending himself... he said that he was defending his community.

It might only burn the lower half of his body. I don't know. That's just how the story (by Stephen King) went. They used an old abandoned shack.

Think for a moment. There are worse fates than death. Besides with burns like that he would die, just slower.
