  • Can't pick up a woman in a bar? Arrest her!

CAUGHT ON TAPE: Off-Duty Deputy Cuffs And Bullies Marine Woman At Restaurant. A drunk off duty cop was incensed that a woman rejected his advances, so he goes out to his car, gets his handcuffs and gun, and then puts her in the handcuffs and roughs her up quite a bit.

The Sherriff tried to defend his deputy, but the Police department kept up the pressure until the deputy was placed on unpaid leave. How can someone defend that deputies conduct is beyond me.
You can find more of the story at: http://www.policestateusa.com/2013/d...-his-advances/
as well as several other incidents that are pretty disturbing.

I'm not posting this, to trash all cops, thankfully we still have plenty of good ones left. But we all know that some of them need to be in a different line of work. We are watching and recording this crap. And they are not going to get away with their abuse of power.

I cannot defend this guy either. But as a point of educational fact video clears far more officers than it condemns. And that is an undeniable fact! Sadly the lamestream media does not publicize this neither do negative naysayers.

Depts. that have installed video recorder in cars have seen complaints plummet by over 90%.

"Coming home from Lawton and we got behind a funeral line and saw this officer in the pouring rain, with no rain gear on, saluting the hearse and family as they went by."
There are still a lot of good ones out there.

Yes LZ, the dash cams do reduce a lot of complaints. You know certain elements of society will yell "Police Brutality" if a cop even touches them. The dash board cams really help with that nonsense. I don't see why so many object to being filmed on the street though, possibly because they have no control over the video, and IT can be edited to show what the cameraman wants you to see.
The only problem I see with the dash cam, is that video can be edited to show what they want you to see. I think a lot of them have time stamps on each frame though, so that makes editing much more difficult.

Citizen videos are ALMOST ALWAYS edited and poorly at that. With time stamps edits are pretty obvious.

We don't have dash cams in our town but a few neighboring towns do and they love them. One of my coworkers husband just retired a couple months back in a nearby town. He had dash cam and audio recording on his person.

Each traffic stop he had to advise the person that they were being recorded both audio and visual. He loved it. I didn't think they would but it just removes the gray area. I have a hard time explaining that to the head violet, my leader, there is no room for gray in law enforcement, it's all black or white. She doesn't get it.

A BUNCH of officers I know have purchased and use the personal body cams. There are very small and clip to the uniform shirt. Complaints also drop with them.

We were a local police departments officers house with a bunch of other LEO families and they were saying that with their department dispatch and admin have access to go and look at stuff online live at any time. He said that if you were just on patrol and not doing anything and you look up and notice it's recording that is an indication that it is being watched live by admin.

What I see in this film is the woman is too drunk to walk or even stand up. When the officer cuffed her she couldn't even get off the bar stool without falling down backwards. The officer tried to pick her up but he couldn't lift her 200 pound dead weight. Then tried to get her a chair to set in but she wouldn't set back down. Not rough handling, only trying to arrest a drunk.

Can't pick up a woman in a bar? Arrest her!

^So a off duty LEO that was drinking as well decided he should arrest someone for being drunk? Her friends said many times in the vid that she did nothing wrong and they were trying to take her home. It also appears that everyone else there disagreed with what the LEO was doin.
He should have to suffer the same punishment that a civilian with a CC permit would receive if he was carrying under the influence.

Also. If you watch the vid again she starts to fall when he twists the handcuffs. Every time she falls she is also yelling in pain.

My comment stands as posted. The woman is too drunk to even stand up. The deputy was trying to keep her from falling to the floor.
Tman, your heading comment was inflammatory and degrading to the deputy. He was not trying to get a date.

Edit: The original story from "Police State USA" was biased and the video does not justify the paper's derogatory comments either. At no time did the deputy have his hand on the womans breast, and he was not using a "choke hold" either..

I guess we'll just have to see what shakes out after all of the facts are in. If it turns out that he is not guilty of any wrong doing I hope that he receives the back pay that he is owed.

Ike, my heading was a summary of the way the story was being presented that day. It has since changed some. It would seem we had a young lady upset and drunk, and the deputy was wanting to talk to her, and she didn't want to talk to him. Both parties should have went their separate ways, but it appears they did not. Perhaps the deputy wanted to talk to her so he could hit on her. Who knows.

As for her being drunk, so what? she was in a bar, people get drunk in bars, and as for her stumbling, the good deputy has ahold of her, who knows how he pushing her. We can see later by the way he manipulates her later in the video by her handcuffs and shoves, that he's ready and willing to get physical with her. And at one point in the video, he is resting his hand at the very top of her breasts, not down low, but fairly high, but still in the breast area. How would you feel if that was your daughter he was manhandling? I imagine you'd have a different viewpoint.

I might have an easier time blowing this off, if the deputy had not been arrested by the city police for assault and battery. The sheriff initially dried to defend the deputy, but has since placed him on unpaid temporary leave, which I hope is made permanent if the facts show he was indeed out of line. It depends, it says he was a 49 year old, I thought he was a much younger man. I'd have to look at his overall record, If this was the type of deal where overall he has a really good record, but maybe he was having a bad day, and had a lapse in judgment, then that would be one thing, and they should be willing to work with him, but if he has a pattern of crap like this, it's past time he was in a new line of work.

I think he should have his day in court, I'd really like to hear his explanation how all this came about and why he had to drag her around in handcuffs for a bit, and seems to enjoy twisting the cuffs or whatever and shoving her around causing her scream in pain. It makes him look like a sadistic creep.

I hear about it seems like at least one questionable shooting a day. Without even looking. We had a 60 something year old guy shot by cops, because a cop walked by and thought he smelt meth being made, so they got a warrant and raided the guy and shot him for holding a remote control (the look SO much like guns). Luckily, they found just enough marijuana in his sons room to warrant a drug raid. So he was just marked down as another accidental shooting. Then some mentally handicapped person was dancing around with a knife, not threatening anyone just dancing around, and a cop pulls up and shoots from about 25 feet away because he wouldn't stop dancing and put the knife down. Another guy was shot when a SWAT team pulled a drug raid at the wrong house. You'd think they could check and make sure they were at the right address. And a lady was letting her dog play in the front yard, and some neighbor calls 911, and an officer pulls up and shoots the dog. With the owner right there. He didn't ask her to put the dog up or anything, just pulls up, gets out, and bang.
All these killings....... All justified, all legal, all swept nicely under the rug.
                              Good job Officer Friendly.

If we don't pay attention, and bring abuses to light, they are only going to get worse. All those shootings above were legal, but was justice served? That's one of the problems with this country, is we have a legal system, and not a justice system.
Some scum have enough money to hire the best lawyers, and they let these scum off on some technicality. So the kingpins walk, while their street punks go to jail.

There are still too many of them out thee with that mentality of "I have a badge and you will do what I say" whether it's legal or not, constitutional or not. Cops are Law ENFORCEMENT, not law MAKERS as some of them seem to think.

Some seem to think that putting a badge on someone makes them infallible, and they can do no wrong. Put a badge on a jerk, and all you have is a jerk with a badge, bad news for everyone. We have these young kids, products of our wonderful public education system, becoming police. Minds filled with the latest propaganda the NEA and the Govt. has come up with. Oh boy, Obamabot-cops. I'm sure we'll all love these guys.
