Is this what Obamacare will be like?

A young lady does a video about how the VA screwed her up pretty bad with incompetent surgeons and doctors. Is this what we can expect with Obamacare? VA's are not known for providing the best of care, is this going to spread into private hospitals as doctors retire or change professions rather than mess with Obamacare? Are we going to be left with doctors and surgeons that are barely competent?

She also tells of being raped by her superior officer and getting thrown into a looney bin because they contacted the officer and he made up some story of her going nuts and damaging equipment. They never did examine her for rape evidence, just shipped her off to the nut house, wanting her to sign a statement that she made the whole thing up. The rape, I don't know what happened and it could well be made up, but the hysterectomy she received at the VA and the mistakes made are kind of frightening if that is what we can expect with Obamacare. She was finally released from the looney bin after her mother contacted her Senators and Representative.
I didn't post this to discuss the alleged rape, (you can discuss that if you want) but to get people's thoughts on what is going to happen when Obamacare goes fully functional. I've heard about too many doctors saying they would retire rather than mess with Obamacare, so are we going to be left with the dregs of the medical profession? My personal Dr. said he can't retire, as he still has kids to put through college, but other doctors in his group have indicated they will retire. Who's going to replace them? A bunch of know-it-alls fresh out of med school?

Doctors are by majority alpha's and the don't like to be told what to do even by each other.
If they got something else to do or can afford to retire, they'll be gone faster than you can say Mr. Obama, go to the theater. Please.

I can't speak to her issues, but I have several friends who have received the only best of care from the VA and it isn't only the VA that gets sued for malpractice.

If you want to see what socialized medicine will be like...look to Canada. You will wait several months for tests, depending on your diagnosis. There will be very limited CT Scanners, MRI's, PET scanners. Many imaging centers will be forced to close because they will not be reimbursed. Very few facilities will remain open. Surgical procedures will be decided on by a review board to determine if it is worth spending the money on you. Surgeries will be delayed significantly. Some terminal illnesses will not be treated due to patient age. Your life or death will be decided for you by the government insurance review boards. Even if you have the money to pay out of pocket, your care will be significantly delayed. Why do you think the Canadians come to the USA for medical care and retirement?

It won't be because physicians quit, it will be because there will be fewer jobs at much lower wages due to a huge reduction in the number of facilities approved by the government for you to obtain medical care. Google any country with socialized medicine (like Canada) and you will see what we are in for.

My 2 cents.. VA medicine is generally good IMHO. In fact, many healthcare doctors who are teachers at many healthcare schools are from VA programs.

What will happen is that more docs will retire if they are close to doing so. More auxiliaries will be utilized before you will ever see a doctor and because the doctors will be even more overworked and not compensated well enough for it, you will see more foreign trained docs taking care of us. The amount of domestically trained docs will decline because of the high patient loads and poor pay. So the writing is on the wall and we are reading it with 20/20 vision.

I use the VA Medical Center here in Indianapolis. This is a training hospital for Indiana University Interns. Surgeons are IU Professors and World Class in their professions.

I've been going there since Agent Orange started hitting me hard. I've had my Heart and my legs worked on at this VAMC and have nothing but praise for the quality of care I receive.

So, simple speaking, you will not get the great care with Obamacare that I receive. Sorry, but if you voted for the man you get what you deserve, the rest of us do not.

I was about to pipe up about the VA being much better than this young lady wanted all to believe but I've been beaten to the punch. I've been to a few VA hospitals across the country for various reasons, not always medical for me, and have found them to be on par or better than most civilian hospitals.

I think some people may have a stigma against the VA from the Walter Reed story of a few years ago, but that was an Army hospital, not the VA. I can say I've been to maybe one or two military hospitals that I was just glad I was not in them for treatment. The others were more than satisfactory.

I'm glad to hear that most are happy with their VA care. Vets deserve good medical care, no matter how low this administration views them.
I can't believe some of the comments coming out of the mouths of Feinstein and her ilk. "All veterans have some form of PTSD". Bullsht. There are a lot of support personnel that never see combat, and have no reason to have PTSD, except for the way this administration treats them. We have a Navy full of people that don't see combat, an Airforce where most people except pilots are rarely in combat situations, the Coast Guard who never see combat, except maybe with some drug smugglers.
I don't know how that turns into ALL veterans have some sort of psychiatric problems. It's the idiot libtards in Congress that have mental issues.


As far as Muslim Dr.'s go, I had one do my bypass, and he did a great job. Many of the skilled surgeons in my area are muslim, or at least from muslim countries. Most foreigners (except those from south of the border) are smart enough to come to our country and take advantage of the educational opportunities here. Kind of makes me sick to see our spoiled kids rather play X-Box or skateboard or whatever than try and learn something useful. Many of them think they are going to get in a band that's going to hit the big time, and instead end up working at Wal-Mart.


There are plenty of trades to learn that will make them a good living if they don't want to go to college. We'll always need plumbers, mechanics, carpenters, machinists and other skilled labor.

I have healthcare through the VA. Not many healthcare systems run as efficiently as they do. You can find horror stories from any hospital in the country. And what does being raped by a superior officer have to do with it?

Don't confuse muslims with Indians that are Hindu's. There are very few Muslim Doctors in the US but a lot of Hindus. They look similar but that is all. They are a different group of people and not Islamists.
