Yep, ask a student who Rosa Parks was, and they can tell you her life story. Ask them who Robert E. Lee, or Ulysses S. Grant was, or anything about the heroes of the Revolutionary war, and you'll get a blank stare.

I'm unclear about Commie Core. I've read that it contains no curriculum at all, it's just a document to say everyone in America has to have the same educational standards.


If you like your curriculum, you can keep it.

Personally, I'm among the minority who still think the Feds have no business in Education, since the Constitution said so.

When I was in screwl, we never got within about 30 years of the present day in history class. Maybe they were using 30 year old books or something.

ive been lucky enough to send my kid to a private school which surpasses any local school on test scores in every grade.... of course they don't play the socialist games publik skools do around here.
