100 state delegates discuss a Convention of the States

Nearly 100 delegates of various states attended a conference to promote a Convention of The States, in order to amend the Constitution, and take reign in the Federal Government. 2/3's of the states are needed to propose an amendment, with 3/4ths needing to approve it before it becomes law.

I fully support this move, and hope they are able to get some things accomplished. We have plenty of reasons to knock the Federal government down a peg or two:

• They illegally spy on and steal from us.
• They try to imprison those who call them out on it.
• They manipulate critical information to satisfy their bloodlust.
• They target us for our political views.
• They sic their IRS goons on us when we speak out.
• They lie to us about essentially everything.

God bless these courageous people and may be bless their efforts and protect them. I fear there may be a rash of "suicides" among the attendees. I'd bet money most of them will be audited, or otherwise harassed by the Federal govt.

Did you say "to amend the Constitution"? How? Or did you mean to get the Feds to adhere to it?

Why would anyone support a Constitutional Convention? Understand that Mr Obama was elected TWICE. That to me would seem to show that any sort of Constitutional Convention would not result in rules in the favor of limited govt or of freedom and liberty. WHY would someone wish to throw the little liberty and freedom we do have away?

Amending the constitution is serious business and shouldn't be taken lightly. Sometimes amendments can have far reaching unintended consequences. Two amendments that I can think of off hand were prohibition and giving women the right to vote. Neither did the country much good. Excuse me while I duck in case any of the ladies on this MB are reading this post.

Anything that can one way can go the other. No matter what they state as their goals, we could end up with a gutted 1st & 2nd. They may be on life support now but consider if they didn't exist at all. I don't want anybody messing with the Constitution, just supporting it.

Our government is broke, and broken. King Barry ignores the constitution at will, and chooses which laws he wants enforced and those he doesn't. Some legislator is suing him in court to force him to adhere to and enforce the constitution.
I don't know if anything will come out of this states convention. I doubt that we can get 3/4ths of the states to agree on anything.

I don't see a need for a constitutional convention. All that we need to do is elect people who will protect and defend the constitution that we already have. The Tea Party people have the right idea.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read this post. Why leave our Constitution in the hands of these bozos to make ANY changes for the better or worse. Of course these politicians want to change the constitution. I say Leave it alone and live by what it says. That's the problem we have...the government is breaking the rules of the Constitution and have done everything to benefit themselves...not the people. Support the Constitution...don't change it! Who in their right mind wants to permit our government to change the Constitution?

Your all missing the real picture. Their using tax payer dollars to fund a private get away. Playing to their base and getting a free vacation. I bet it's some place nice too.
