I heard they have burgers and beer on the bus too. I tried to get on but they wouldn't let me, guess I didn't look right or something. I even took the card they handed me that told me where to mark my votes, in 4 different languages I think, none of which I could read.

They're are a lot of scared members of this forum. What exactly are you guys afraid of?

Do you fear people who look different than you do? Who speak differently than you do? Who eat different foods than you do?

If this is the case, you better get used to these people or at least try to overcome your fear of them.

They're everywhere now and more are coming here and more are being born here every day. The day is coming when the white people of this country (and I am one) will be outnumbered and outvoted.

Get used to it. It's happening right in front of your eyes. I figure you can make your peace with others or face some uncertain and perhaps unpleasant circumstances.

There has been a large upsurge in interracial marriage in this country. Hell, 50 years from now most of the people in the US are going to be a rather pleasing cafe au lait color anyway.

This is going to include some of you grandkids and most, if not all of your great grandchildren.

But have no fear, even when we are all the same color we will find reasons to hate and kill each other. Middle Easterners and the Irish are good examples of this.

There's a perfect example of the kind of fear I'm talking about.

"Maybe if I don't look at that mouse, rat, spider or snake, it'll be gone when I open my eyes and I'll be safe and I won't be afraid anymore."

Classic.

By the way, I do stand up for a living. I make a decent money at it too. I travel all over this country and talk to all kinds of people before, during (yes, during) and after the shows.

I'm rarely the only person on the card at these clubs, there are usually 3-4 of us and we usually do two shows a night.

The "better" clubs have "comedy condos," places where they put up the acts to save on hotels and per deim food costs.

We tell them ahead of time how to stock the fridge. It's always a rider in the contract. And sometimes they even get it right!

There seem to be fewer and fewer white comics these days. Subsequently, I'm often the only paleface, snowman, snowball, Casper (the friendly ghostl or (White) Tornado in these comedy accomodations. I know a few "friendly" racial jibes too. It all tends to even out.

There's usually a certain amount of drinking going on and other mind altering stuff around.

Most of the time, it's a blast. Sometimes it's not. I've gotten in a few brawls with my comedic brethren. It ain't easy being the only marshmallow in a bucket of charcoal.

But it's nothing to fear either. And like I say, you better get used to it.

We all take turns cooking.

I've turned a lot of dudes onto some kind of beef, potatoes and gravy. a lot of dudes won't even try medium rare roast beef.

"I don't give a **** what your say, that **** ain't even cooked. I ain't eating that."

This is where I tend to pour the blood off the plate I've been carving the roast on right into a glass, throw a little salt in it and drink it. We had so much screaming at this one night a neighbor banged on the wall and wanted to know if we needed the cops.

Believe me, it was a good thing they just didn't call. Think about it. The headline would have read, "Comedy Quartet Busted for ... ." But states are legalizing it now.

But, medium rare roast beef aside, there are a lot of guys who come off the road and hand off my Irish Stew recipe to their significant others if they aren't good around a stove and stew pot. EVERYBODY likes a good Irish Stew.

And yeah, I love oxtails, okra, all kinds of greens and some other stuff I NEVER thought I'd try, let alone like. I can't do pigs feet, though.

Yep, I even like some kinds of Sushi. Never thought that would happen. Raw freakin' fish? No way!!!

But life is just full of surprises, boys.

If you ask most comics what their job is, most of us will tell you, "To make people laugh, to show people a good time, help them forget their problems for a little while," and BS like that.

But get most comics alone, and twist their arm hard enough and they'll tell you something like;

"I try to make people think too. I don't tell people WHAT to think but thinking about sh*t is good for the soul. And if I'm funny enough, people repeat my lines to their friends and maybe a serious discussion will follow. Who knows?

And besides, the money is pretty damn good for not a lot of work."

The humor of the sign was simply about the nature of our voting system and how immigration or lack of proper immigration has influenced the recent elections. It is about giving free stuff to get votes. Our country is comprised of different races and that is not the issue. Most of us get the simple message of this sign.


I am not sure where you are headed with your rant about race issues, but I can guess where you may be headed with the forum. Let's keep it pleasant please.

Yeah that is the guy TV R F. I certainly didn't like what he did to my thread and I don't want to hijack Gary's thread but I feel Mickeyfinn's behavior is almost troll like. I certainly like differing opinions on this board but his outright attacks on you and CJB were not warranted IMHO. While I salute his right to him vocalizing his opinion, he doesn't need to be as abrasive in doing so.
