Minimum wage jobs were never intended to provide a "living wage". They're entry level positions designed to prepare you for a real job. A minimum wage job can also be a second job used to supplement your regular income. If you work for McDonalds and are unhappy with your wages go out and find a real job. Flipping burgers is not a real job.

I argue with my wife on this all the time. She firmly believes our kids should be able to get an entry level job at 15 bucks an hour. She doesn't make 15 an hour herself.

Somebody has got to pay in order to earn 15 bucks an hour.

Your dollar menu is gonna be right out the window and it'll become a 5 or 8 dollar menu. So nothing is gained. The burger flipper won't be able to buy his own burger!

I don't look down on burger flippers or any of those. They provide a much needed service but they are entry level. While they live at home with dad paying the freight. When they move up, a new batch of entry levels come along.

Ever wonder why there are no longer any full service gas stations except in Oregon where your not allowed to pump your own? Course all they do is pump, don't wash windows or check oil or let you use the restroom.

Nobody wants to pay.

I can't comprehend how much some folks make. Not a man alive worth 100,000 a year but we all need to make that much in order to buy burgers where the flipper makes 15 an hour.

I totally understand that economics is a difficult subject. I used to tutor sophomore economics in college. But how is it that 99% of our politicians failed? The minimum wage argument is actually very simple...something you would learn in Econ101.
