So what are we to do about it? I already vote, write letters, send emails, and share my opinions with anyone willing to listen.

The whole government system needs to be "fixed".

    I repeat, WHAT NOW!

IMHO, nothing can be fixed by the current Democrat and Republican parties because neither is willing to listen to the other party let alone compromise to get anything done. The only way things will change is by the formation of a centrist political party, which I find highly unlikely.
Maybe it is time to research survivalist information.

Sounds to me like an excuse to give up.

Just my not so humble opinion.

What one bad man can totally screw up in such a short time can be fixed by one good man with a little more time. I'm not giving up. I'm depressed and I know its borderline hopeless. If hildabeast gets elected, I think we'll all have good reason to give up completely.

I'm really hoping or a good guy mr fixer to get and start cleaning up the mess.

I'd do it myself but I don't have the money to buy in. Also with my PC skills or lack thereof, well it wouldn't be pretty to some.

What now? It would be interesting to see people's ideas on how to fix the government system. Here is my thought:
              1. Pick out ONE important issue. The most important issue. I believe that issue is the national debt and deficit.
              2. Decide what needs to be done about the issue. I believe the government needs to create a plan to control the debt and deficit. They must enact legislation that will reduce the deficit to zero over the next 7 years. Once the deficit is at zero, the legislation must force the government to maintain a balanced budget that includes setting aside funding to reduce the debt every year.
              3. If our elected officials fail to do that, every congressman with 4 or more years in office, every senator, and the President will be voted out of office.
              4. If they succeed, their reelection will then be determined by how their constituents view their success on the myriad of other issues that were or were not resolved.
              5. It may take a cycle or two, but eventually our elected officials will learn that they must work together to fix the problem or they will be fired.
              6. Once the debt/deficit problem is on the right path, pick another important issue.

As I alluded to earlier, it will essentially require a centrist party with sufficient numbers and dedication to make this happen.
That's my idea of fixing the government - what other ideas are out there?

(I have done a lot of mowing over the past year)

Good men must either rise up and break a few eggs to make a better omlette like the Founders did, or hunker down and ride it out like the German civilians in WWII.

There has been a lot of this so called compromise coming out of DC lately. It looks like this: Give us what we want and you get nothing in return. This has happened many times of many issues i.e. gun control, the budget/deficit, Benghazi, Fast and Furious and many other scandals that have marked this administration. Last time I checked compromise can be defined as both sides giving something they want up and neither walking away very happy. I leave this here: Nixon resigned over far less than what is going on now. Billary clinton (spelling and caps intentional, damn first word of a sentence) was IMPEACHED for far less, there was talk of doing the same and more to his successor. When a scandal comes out every other day, and are so blatantly anti-American I have to ask how in the world compromise could even be thought about. Personally, I know there will not be a reckoning except maybe at the polls for all of this by this administration, I pray the ballot box is still a viable option, I've seen what the cartridge box brings.

Nothing is gained by compromising with liberal democrats. Which of your core beliefs would you like to compromise? Compromise is the nose of the camel under the tent.

You need to spend a little more time on that mower, David. Compromise with the left works like this. They want to screw you. You don't want to be screwed, so you compromise and let them screw you just a little. When that becomes the norm they create a crisis and you let them screw you a little more in the spirit of compromise. Repeat. Pretty soon you're completely screwed. Ya can be just a little pregnant David. Sometimes ya just gotta cross your legs.
