Does have a point to it doesn't it. Yep, I'm gonna be in a foul mood.

Insurance ranks right up there with lawyers. I just got denied a water damage claim yesterday. Just what I needed.

And my feelings about citizenship are well known.

Hate to hear that Boss, I feel your pain...Had full coverage home owners insurance with the "Like a Good Neighbor" folks once and we were in the process of moving and while the house was empty a squirrel got inside down the chimney and chewed up every window sill in the house trying to get out before the little bastard died....Good Neighbor folks said it was rodent damage and not covered...

Dumped them and went with the "Good Hands" turds....Had full replacement coverage with a million dollar umbrella and had a total loss house fire....Found out full replacement didn't exactly mean what they sold me....I had over $5000.00 of mechanics hand tools that were lost and the A-Holes wanted receipts for each and every tool and when and where I bought every screwdriver, wrench, ratchet and socket which I couldn't possibly produce so they did an estimated settlement and I ended up with less than half of what my tools were worth...They low balled us every which way from Sunday and we ended up having to sue them to get even part of what our home was worth....Insurance companies are nothing but Organized Crime which makes them the perfect partner to hook up with our Organized Crime Government Health Care system...

I've always said a for sure good thing is to invent something and then have the government make it a law that requires everyone to buy your invention. Think helmet, seat belt, insurance, the list goes on.

It chaffs my backside that I'm required to buy and pay for insurance due to the loan. The insurance can charge whatever they want and they get to make all the rules. Then you have a claim and it's up to them to decide if they'll pay or not.

In my case I apparently had a plumbing supply line leak under the guest bath. Being a mobile they put a plastic type material all over on the bottom. So a leak can't escape, it stays in the insulation etc. So a leak under a tub eventually migrated and ruined the floor in the bath, the dining room and one bedroom. Much more extensive than I predicted.

She (another issue with insurance) said that the leak has been happening a long time so it's not covered. I explained that I agreed but I didn't know there was a leak and when I discovered I thought there was one I had a plumber out the same day. Asked if I'm suppose to crawl under my house every day to check for leaks. She said have a good day and hung up.

So now I have 8 to 10,000 in damage plus I found out I have bad poly pipe and need to redo the whole house for another 4,000 or so. On top of a new tranny in my van I've had a belly full of bad news lately.

But all that aside the sun is out and gonna be a nice warm day today.

I can see a lot of benefit to outhouses and galvanized wash tubs for baths.

yep people think they have insurance so they are "covered". There are times when people thank G-d they have it but there are times when people realize that insurance is a business of making profit. Paying out less in claims than what is put in as premiums is the name of the game. I don't know another way to go through life without it so I pay my premiums and hope I never need it. I guess it is a necessary evil?

A few years back, I thought that I could hear water running. I looked and listened for weeks, and couldn't find anything. Then I got my water bill. For 3 months, it was $325. I said " What?" Had the city water come over. Found out that a pipe burst, right under my meter, and got lucky in the fact that the water was going into the sewer instead of my basement. Since the pipes were under the basement slab, it could have been a nightmare. Called my insurance co. and they said go ahead and do whatever is necessary to fix the issue. I had a plumber cut off the pipe, and rerun copper above the slab, with new valves. Insurance co. paid without a wimper. AFI......have them for my vehicles also.
