I also disagree with this statement. Yes, you cannot legislate morality. And, if you cannot legislate morality, it then follows that you cannot punish immorality because that IS legislating morality. Laws are not enacted to punish immorality. Yep you have to hear it. I love Muggs AND I love you too. I love a lot of people here in a non mano a mano way(Bawanna likes that qualifier haha).
I never really knew where I stood on stuff until guys here challenged me and I continue to appreciate the views here even if I do not agree with them as long as the discourse is respectful. Since I have been on this board, I have changed my opinion on many political matters.

You can't legislate morality - what does that mean?
Criminals don't follow the law, behavior and thought are individual choices, beyond the reach of legislators. But all laws are based on someone's morals, it's that not everyone shares the same morals. Such as progressive income taxes and killing the unborn.Comment
