Watch his career go BAM after this...

Talking about how it's become very difficult to start a restaurant today, “And then you add all the Obama nonsense to what it’s become in the last several years. I don’t have anything against Mr. Obama. I’m just saying the way that, you know… the government should stay out of things. [...] Pretty soon, they’re going to wipe a lot of the middle restaurateurs and restaurant cooks. [...] If it continues, then watch: you’re going to have high-end, and you’re going to have fast food, and you’re going to have chain restaurants.”

The Hollywood mafia will have him railroaded out so fast it'll make Paula Deen's head spin.

As a small business owner I can confirm that what Emeril describes is true for all small to medium sized businesses. The cost to administer compliance alone is staggering! Gee I wonder where all the jobs went?

I have a friend who runs a company in Germany. He is upset because he has to let two perfectly good employees go. The reason? Germany raised the mandatory minimum wage and these two do not produce enough to offset the new cost of their labor. Instead they will go on infinite government relief....

Happening here. Couple cities near here raised minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour. Are you kidding me?

Say austalvista to the dollar meal baby.

My wife supports it. Won't listen to reason. She says kids deserve a decent wage. I told they get a decent wage when they get a real job. Fast food etc is a stepping stone while they live at home and go to school and for retired old codgers like me. Want fries with that looking for something to do.

I don't even believe in minimum wage concept myself. I look at the brass around here and their salaries and realize the kid flipping dollar meals works harder than they do. Something is wrong with this picture boys and girls.

Went to a Red Lobster restaurant a while back after church one Sunday and the waiting area was packed and the wait was over 45 minutes so alot of folks were leaving...I went in to use the restroom and noticed half the restaurant was empty so I asked the manager what gives....He said since Obamacare kicked in they had to cut way back on their staff and they could only operate half the restaurant with the people they could keep on payroll....Hope and Change at it's best

I see a campaign for Mayor of Monroe in your future, then Governor. I think you could use your position as a tool to get in. If O got in because he was faux black you could use your chair which is real. Heres how it can work. Run as a Democrat, promise free weed to everyone, then when you get in change party to Republican, shut down the weed business, then tell those getting a check for not working that if you can work they can too so work or they can go hungry. I've got a sister and brother in law out there that would vote for you if you'll let me tell them the secret plan. What do you think?
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Minimum wage jobs are entry level positions for unskilled labor. These jobs were never intended to provide a living wage.

here's part of the problem--- http://www.businessinsider.com/ameri...lity-is-2014-9 the CEO makes how much?
the people who would support a restaurant with table clothes and silverware and decent prices is what we used to call the "middle class". they aren't middle anymore as much as being on the high end of poverty. $12.99 for meatballs and pasta? how about turkey sausage balls on Ramen noodles, 40oz. of whatever beer is on sale.

Consider this: yes this was true years ago but not so much today. As fast food became more and more accepted and the number of stores reached its max, a career was born which is over proportionately satisfied by one particular group within society. The increase in MW is supposed to help offset the gross income disparity when compared to other groups in society. Therefore, there are many people who feel that minimum wage jobs do support families. Unfortunately, those supporters have no idea what that ultimately does to all wages and also have no idea where the money comes from to pay for it.

I read your article marc...thanks. But I'm not clear about your point. Unless it is that Average Joe American has no clue about free market economics, wealth creation, and what drives entrepreneurship.
