  • This SH!t has to STOP!!!

Another unarmed black killed for no reason. "Accidental discharge is being blamed, which we know is a negligent discharge."
    http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/...icle-1.2018724

I don't know if they need more training, or to at least learn the basic 4 gun safety rules, one of which is keep your finger off the trigger, or what.
You think Ferguson is bad, I'm dreading to see what kind of circus Rev. Al and company will turn this thing into. Being it's in his home court and all.
The effin cop didn't announce himself, didn't identify the victim, just fired a shot. He didn't even call for an ambulance or go to check on the guy. They weren't in pursuit of anyone, just patrolling the building according to the NYPD spokesperson. What a jerk. I would go for a manslaughter charge (at least) on this cop. Effin rookies. Many of them have no business with a badge or a gun. This ain't no Andy Griffith no more, this is more like Robo-*******. Probably had too much military type training and thought he was in Iraq or some crap. This is what happens when you militarize the Police, they start looking at everyone as "enemy" and forget about "serve and protect".
I don't give a damn what the cop comes up with, if he didn't announce himself and tell the guy to freeze, but just shot him, then he needs to face some serious prison time, just as you or I would if we shot someone by "accident".

Some folks (and not all of them minorities) are already wanting to shoot or eff-up anyone with a badge, and this crap is not helping.

Oh, we got to wait for all the evidence to come in. (Let them get their lies straight so they don't cross each other up). I can't think of anything they could come up with that would justify this. Just admit the guy screwed up and punish him fairly, and not with some slap on the wrist either.

I got stopped just the other day, on the on ramp to the interstate, the cop thought I had the wrong tag on my car, I don't know why he was calling my tag in, I was probably speeding a little or driving aggressively (I forgot to ask) , but the stop went real well, I pulled well off the road onto the grass next to the shoulder, so we were well out of traffics way. I was armed, and showed him my CC permit, and told him the gun was in a compartment under the compartment in the center console that I keep my registration in, and to not get rattled if I open the wrong compartment and he sees a gun. But after showing my registration and insurance card, he said the computer must be messed up or something. Everything went well, and I shook his hand and told him have a safe day.
Another weird thing is that I bought a car from my son to give to my daughter, and transferred the tag, from one car to the other. I never did get the title back in the mail, and the renewal went to my son instead of me. So I got to take the registration down when the kid gets home from school, and get that straightened out.

Some guys just shouldn't be cops. I guess this fella won't be one for much longer.

        From the comments section:
Steve Abernathy, former NYPD foot patrol.
" The cops training these rookies are rookies themselves"

The first thing I thought of when I read this story is: Was his gun a Glock? Glock leg turns into Glock Chest.

"New NYPD officers are allowed to select one of three 9mm service pistols: the SIG Sauer P226 DAO, Smith & Wesson Model 5946 DAO, and Glock 19.[22] All are modified to a 12-pound (53 N) NY-2 trigger pull.[23] Officers who were issued revolvers prior to the transition to semi-automatic pistols on January 1, 1994, are "grandfathered" and if so can choose to continue to carry a revolver as a duty weapon." - Wikipedia

Seems like a 12lb trigger pull would help eliminate a lot of negligent discharges.

A twelve pound trigger pull can get the officer killed. It's hard enough to hit what you aim at using a gun with a five pound pull. Before you get all wound up let all of the facts be gathered. Remember, Trayvon Martin was just a sweet little kid and Michael Brown was a Gentle Giant.

My NYPD buddies tell me there are1 or 2 ranges they can go to, they are too crowded and most rarely practice, hence stupid and deadly inaccurate occurs.

Things like this never happen in a perfect world. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. Sometimes a person is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Life is a crap shoot.

Muggsy, I don't know what "facts" are going to help this cop out. He was scared shitless patrolling that building, and had his gun drawn, and finger on the trigger. Yes it was an accident, but he should face the same charges as you or I would if we shot someone by accident.

In all probability the will face charges. There is no need to get all amped up about it unless you're planning on moving to Ferguson. I'm sure that the police officer didn't intend to shoot an innocent unarmed person, but it happened. He's going to have to live with that fact for the rest of his life and he was only there trying to protect and serve. Let cooler heads prevail.
