yadda, yadda, with Ferguson. life goes on, new stories every hour. yesterday there was a story about a guy who killed his mother and shot a cop in a botched robbery at the mothers house. today in the news we see where this guy has shot 2 FBI agents. http://fox2now.com/2014/11/26/two-fb...mains-in-home/
now back in Ferguson, some folks are calling for national discussions about how and why the USA is having problems extending respect and dignity to the black youth. I hope they can come to some realistic conclusions, possible solutions.

If you think about it, if not for law enforcement there would be no businesses to loot and steal from. Maybe these folks need to wake up and stop biting the hand that feeds them.

I wouldn't open a business in an area where it would be subject to such disregard for the law.
I know theft happens everywhere, heck even my own work truck was stolen from my driveway at 12:14am monday morning, but I dont go walking through the hood at night with a Mr. T starter kit around my neck!

I've been reading some real BS about Ferguson, about how we need to be doing a nation wide soul searching about race relations and how the Police treat young black men, and all kinds of stupid crap. Young blacks are the ones that need to do the soul-searching. Are you going to live the thug life, or try to be a productive member of society? I treat people as people, if you want to be civil to me, I'll be civil, if you want to act the thug, you might get shot. I don't care what color you are. But I think things like this Ferguson crap, just tend to make whites more leery of blacks in general.
Blacks compromise under 14% of the population, yet account for almost 40% of those incarcerated. Certainly lack of jobs in cities with a large black population contribute to their participation in illegal ventures, and perhaps the justice system may tend to be harsher towards blacks, but if they weren't doing the crime, they wouldn't be doing the time. Maybe if more of them would actually try and learn something in school, rather than relying on dreams of being a sports or rap star or even being a top tier pimp or drug dealer, they might do better at finding a good job and living a decent and moral life. Perhaps it's too late. Too many have been victims of the welfare policies that tend to destroy traditional family, in favor of this baby daddy/baby momma crap we have today. Women are urged to pump out those babies, as each one means a bigger government check. In some cases the checks were cut off if an adult male was found living in the home, so young boys mostly grew up with no male role model, other than the ones they found on the streets. For the young girls, they learn to get pregnant early and often.
I know, it's pretty easy to sit back and see the problems, but finding a solution isn't so easy. Dimocrats want to perpetuate the problem, by keeping the minorities dependent on government handouts and keep them voting Dimocrat. Republicans try to institute programs that would get people working and off of welfare, which angers the people that would rather sit around and party and get high and get laid and collect those checks, rather than have to work for a living. Then in there somewhere, they get the idea that if they don't get what they want, then rioting and looting is the means to get "justice" rather than engage is something productive to work towards change. And many of them don't know what they want, they have to have someone like the Rev. Al, come in and tell them what they want, and what to believe. And some of them want to cry about how slavery screwed them up. They ought to be happy their ancestors were brought here as slaves, or else they'd be in Africa, most likely starving, or eating who knows what, or fighting for some warlord. They sure as hell wouldn't be collecting any government checks. All races have been slaves at one time or another. Get over it. Slavery is not the problem. Nor is the white man "keeping them down" except for the Dimocrats and their welfare policies.
And one of the saddest things, is that they can't govern themselves, without it turning into corruption and chaos. Look at Detroit, and DC. Or look at a spring break, where 10,000 white students or a mixture of races, can come and go, and leave a resort town about the same as they found it, with not much crime being committed while they are there, other than normal drunken stupidity, while if you get 10,000 student age blacks together, there will be gang fights, rapes, and all manner of lawlessness, and the town left in shambles once they leave. You can call me a racist if you want, but the facts speak for themselves.

Thanks guys, I got tired of hearing how white America needs to do something, when we are not the problem. But they never do want to take responsibility, it's always someone else's fault.

When left to their own devices, communities usually sort out their problems on their own. Meddling do-gooders, as well intended as they may or may not be, usually just cause more problems. The past few hundred years there have been a bunch of condescending busy-bodies who think everyone would be better off if they were more like them.

Rural people would be better off if Urban elites would leave them alone instead of thinking they were ignorant, backward, cheap imitations of city people.
Indians would be better off everyone would let them organize their tribes as they saw fit.
Black communities wold do fine if everyone just stopped treating them like stupid, helpless victims who needed special treatment and hand outs. They don't have any problems that they can't fix on their own.

Leave people to their own devices, and they'll usually figure out a way to live happy and peaceful lives. It's only when outsiders or big government steps in to "help them" or "fix their problems" that major, systemic problems emerge.

Make it so no one in this country can be on the dole for generation after generation, and I bet we'll all be better off. It might be painful at first, but guess what? people have a knack for cultural adaptations. It's kinda what humans do best.

If blacks would do so well if left alone, then tell me which country in sub-Sahara Africa would you live in? There actually are a few fairly stable countries with relatively low crime rates. South Africa, is doing better than I expected, but is not a country I would want to live in.
Or perhaps stay in the USA and live in Detroit, New Orleans, Memphis, Baltimore, or Washington D.C., all towns with black mayors and city leaders (all dimocrats). All with high violent crime rates.

The question is, did WE create this thug culture, is it just a product of a large black population, or is it something else? I would say a lot of the problem lies with the welfare programs, and other feel-good legislation, that they thought would help people, but instead created a culture that grew to be dependent on sucking on the government teat. The violence is what gets me, why do they kill each other so often, over petty BS. Blacks kill other blacks daily, no big deal. A white man shoots a black and is justified in doing so, despite all the lies told from "eye witnesses", and OMG, the whole nation craps it's pants. Is all this black on black violence a product of all the violent tv - movies - rap culture - video games? Then why aren't white kids out there shooting each other more often? Is it a product of their surroundings? Is it genetic? Is it jealousy over what others either worked hard for or inherited, or sold more drugs, or pimped more ho's, to obtain, that the others don't have and want? That's the million dollar question. And no one has the answer. But we have plenty of scumbags that know these things, and use it to their own advantage, right Rev. Al, Jesse Jr., Mr. Black Panther? Equality doesn't mean we are all going to be driving in fancy cars and living in nice houses, it means we all have the same opportunities to make something out of ourselves. For some reason, some people think that by sitting on their asses, and collecting government checks, that they are entitled to the nicer things in life.

Then you have a New Black Panther leader saying that ALL of the problems are because of white people, and they must be exterminated. I can see how that would turn out (If by some chance his fantasy was fulfilled, and the opposite didn't happen) All sorts of little warlord kingdoms, and constant battles for turf. But soon they would soon all be dead from starvation, because no one would want to work to produce food. They'd probably live high on the hog for awhile, looting the grocery stores until they were bare, then killing and eating anything edible, but not having the common sense to keep enough to breed enough to keep the nation fed. Plus their aren't a whole lot of black farmers that know how to plant and harvest grain. Anyone trying to grow a garden would just have their produce stolen by the same lazy teat suckers running wild now. You might have one in a thousand, calling for some foresight, and to think about the long term, but they would be drowned out by the "I want now" crowd.

I wouldn't want to live in any African country, Tom. As far as I can tell, they are all miserable nightmares, and none of them are the product of soverign people deciding their own fate. Modern Africa is the product of hundreds of years of outsider influence. Eurpoean nations looking to claim new territory and resources, missionaries trying to civilize everyone, and modern do-gooder liberals trying to fix their problems with handouts. Makes it easy for corrupt tyrants to step in .The US cities you cited are not much different.

Well said Tom. THIS is the essence of what I mean. Leave people the heck alone and they will figure out a way to get by. For the government teat to suddenly disappear would be devastating for a few generations but that's the only way to save our nation in the long run. It would be painful and lots of people would have to relearn how to do for themselves (myself included), but I think it's the only way.

As far as race specific stuff is concerned, I just don't buy it. Human Beings have a tiny genome compared to most other animals, and most of our differences are pretty superficial. The greatest attribute is our ability to use culture to adapt to different environments.

Let the Black Panthers blame whoever they want. They should be more specific about which white people to blame. The condecending, racist liberals who believe that black people are inferior and need permanent help should be the target of their ire.

I just can't figure out why all the violence directed at each other. I think some of it is turf war battles between gangs, but is that all of it? I do think that some have a tendacy towards violence, that I don't know if it's a result of their upbringing and surroundings, or something else. Why is rioting and looting the answer to everything? That just adds to the stereotype of the violent black people.
You're right about the Europeans meddling in black Africa, stealing their natural resources, missionaries trying to drag them into the 19th and 20th centuries, when they were living a tribal life they had lived for centuries. Still they fared better than the Native Americans did. At least they got to keep their land for the most part, instead of being herded onto reservations, then moved if gold or some other resource was found on the reservation. Some were driven off their land, most notably in South Africa.

If anyone has a right to be upset, I think it would be the Native Americans. Unfortunately, they were decimated to the point of near extinction. In 2010, there were just over 5 million according to the Census. Even when they adopted the white man's way of life, they were still treated as "heathens", and moved off of their ancestral land.

I've come to the conclusion that the only solution to the problem is to legalize everything. Drugs, murder, arson, prostitution, rape, burglary, etc. In that way we could do away the the police, courts, houses of correction, lawyers, etc. We could save a bundle. It will be every man for himself, but we'll be totally free. Who's with me?

Yes!! But there are limits. Just don't legalize polygamy. I have enough trouble with one.
