  • Blue Flu

    I understand that it can't happen, because the safety forces have no strike contracts, but I'd like to see what would occur in our major cities if the thin blue line called in sick for the next two weeks. No one to direct traffic, assist accident victims, settle domestic disputes, investigate murders, rapes or other lesser crimes and who deter crime simply by patrolling our streets. I think that the people now protesting our police in the streets would discover a new found respect for the men and women in blue, particularly in the neighborhoods where crime runs rampant. I think that those among us who support the police need to start a protest movement of our own. We should be out there protesting the protesters and politicians who don't appreciate all of the things that our safety forces do for us.

      If I was still a LEO I would be seriously considering a career change, especially if I worked in one of these "rioting prone" towns.

      If you don't like the way LEO's try to stop your criminal ways, then let's see how you like it without any Law Enforcement for a month.

      I'm sure that it would change a lot of bad attitudes. Just my not so humble opinion.

      You could then just bulldoze the remains to the landfill, and start over!

        For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
        But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
        An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
        An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool -- you bet that Tommy sees!

            Although I agree with your premise, and if I were in that kind of situation I would consider the Blue Flu or something of the like, I disagree that any significant number of the current protesters/sympathizers would have any change of heart.

            They live under the false illusion that their bad decisions should not come with any consequences. And that ANY time that a white person uses deadly force against a black person it is racist and a crime; subject to the judgment of the mob/anarchist mentality of US vs. THEM.

            I believe that this feeling has been exacerbated by the entitlement mentality that has been encouraged by the BHO administration and their one sided justice actions.

            I hope that this conclusion is wrong and we will notice a significant change in the near future, but I fear that it will just escalate and lead to more confrontation.

              +1 Steve. I agree with your assessment completely, though it could change the minds of the fence sitters.

                        I tried to find the story online but failed miserably. Anyways, a lady in Colorado Springs was out on a busy street corner wearing a sandwich sign supporting the police. The story was on the news last night with an interview of her. She did cause a bit of controversy among some folks in that her sign said to support our police and not thugs.

                        I'm not sure who was upset about the "not thugs" part or if the news station felt they had to say it. I applaud the lady!

                          I think it would be interesting. For one, it might get the gun grabbers to reconsider their position, they might decide that owning a gun for self defense isn't so bad, if they didn't have that false idea that the police were protecting them. Second it might give the chance for some ghetto vigilante action to take out the worst of the bunch. Not all folks that live in the ghetto are bad people, and some might take the opportunity to get rid of some of the really foul scum, burn down the crack houses, and clean up the neighborhood.
                          The same could go for neighborhoods like the one I used to live in. When I moved in, it was a pretty nice neighborhood. Then as some older folks passed away, some major drug dealer bought one of the houses and moved in. You could tell when he got back from a big drug run, from all the nice cars coming and going, with their BOOM BOOM BOOM stereos going playing the cop killer/kill whitey rap. When they finally busted the guy just after he'd got back from one of his runs, the cops showed his neighbor (who was on the fire department, and a friend of the cops) what was in his trunk. He said it was full of bags of whitish powder. At least the one they opened was. Things quieted down quite a bit after that, but I'd had enough and jumped when my uncle offered to sell me his house out in the county, since they were moving into my grandfather's house and restoring it.

                            Good post muggsy.

                            You know what it may do, the Ferguson people may not change but i bet the general clueless liberal elites may have a thought when the looters come in their neighborhood.

                            I bet justice would become swift too. Kinda like the old west. See what that does to race relations.
                            The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

                              Since 9/11, 89 NY police officers have lost their lives in the line of duty. And who do the liberals march for? A career criminal with 31 prior arrests. I'm living in a world that I don't understand.
