it's 11:30pm., Sat. night, 4 innocent youths are out walking along, just seeing the sights when a car pulls up and somebody inside shoots at them. latter on, down at the police station the "parents" are ticketed for not knowing where the kids are. that just racist harassment?

IMO, that should be considered as just harassment unless the parents ticketed were of the one race and other parents (different race) were not.

My take on this, 16 year olds are not just out enjoying the sights at 11:30 PM, especially in St Louis. Sounds more like gang violence to me and I bet the kids and the shooters were all of the same race and up to no good. "Innocent" kids, I doubt it.

Parents should be held accountable about their children..........what is sad is that we have to enforce laws for them to be so. In a perfect world, it would be voluntary and not out of fear of punishment. The original post is sad on many levels here. Innocent kids just checking out the sights at 11:30 pm?? I doubt it.

How does race pertain to this story? No mention of race of any kind in the article or the video. Well, the car was black but that is a bit of a stretch.

From what little I got from the article I'm OK with the ticket. Doesn't matter what race they are IMHO.

I was caught being out after curfew once. After the cop finished slapping me around my old man showed 'em how it really should be done. That cured me.

parents can get a ticket/summons for not knowing or caring what the kid is doing? how about a ticket for the parents of the kid who got shot in the park waving an airsoft gun(barrel marker removed)? "ok kid, take your look alike pistol down to the park and point it at people, have fun". now the parents have a law suit for millions. tell you the truth, these days, I could believe the parents set up the idiot kid.

I think it was a case of a kid just being a kid. He was imitating what he saw on TV every day. The cops didn't know that he was just playing. When you have but a split second to react mistakes can be made.
