  • Plano TX Cop surprises man he pulled over.

A Plano TX Police officer pulled over a young man for an expired tag. What the cop did was pretty cool.

Alabama cop helps poor woman feed her family.

Instead of arresting a woman for stealing 5 eggs, the officer bought the carton for the lady. Some one caught her giving him a hug on video, and it went viral and food donations started pouring in.

These are the kinds of stories you should, but seldom hear about. They don't portray cops as thugs, killers, and racists so it's not newsworthy. Cops are people too and it shows.

        +1 I've never met a cop I didn't like.

Large numbers of cop-haters on some sports boards where I post.

I harp on cops that mess up, but I also like to give credit when credit is due. I did meet a cop that I really didn't like, a rookie with a chip on his shoulder in the city. Caught me in a speed trap where I didn't see the lower speed limit sign, and really gave me a ration of crap about unsafe driving, and crap. I wanted to tell him I'd been driving since he was still in his daddy's nutsack. But I just shut up and said yes sir, and no sir, and didn't give him any reason to mess with me.
I got pulled over a couple times recently, both were very professional. Both thanked me for presenting my CC permit along with my Drivers License. The first time was the officers mistake, or the computer was fouled up, and showed my tag belonged on a Hyundai and not the Merc. Showed him the registration and insurance card, and we shook hands and I was on my way. The 2nd time I was running late and was speeding, and deserved the ticket, so I didn't argue or fuss, just signed the ticket and paid it.
