yeh, thanks for the sales pitch, all the idiots need a gun. did you see the video of the hero black lady that defended herself with a .40 Hi-Point carbine? she shot thru the walls, shot out over the neighbors houses, never hit a bad guy. luckily didn't shoot any innocents. husband bought the idiot a gun, no training, no range time, not a brain in her head.
instead of making goofy videos and then coming here to show off, how about some training videos, gun safety and responsibility videos?
I haven't been shooting at the range since Ferguson, every dumba$$ has bought some kind of pistol and is now at the range, waving it around and shooting out the ceiling-- thanks a lot.

My goodness I thought that more armed people to protect their families would be a good thing. Not in your eyes. By the way, the lady who shot at the intruders was hailed a responsible citizen by the Detroit police chief. I guess we are not all on the same team.

I was showing a friend of my brothers a gun of mine, my Ruger SR9c, and he asked me how much it was, and I said about $420, and he said wow, that's too expensive. I asked him how much he thought his life was worth, with no answer, and then I stated that he would gladly pay $10,000 not to be killed if confronted with the choice of the two.

He still doesn't own a gun and that was 3+ years ago. My brother owns 2 guns and has never shot either of them no matter how many times I stress the importance of doing so.

At some point, I do what I have to do for myself, and others that absolutely refuse to hear it, just have to learn on their own. Hopefully they live to rethink their positions.

I don't like people selling by use of scare tactics, way to much alarmism going on these days, bad sales pitch anyway. I don't like the current NRA and their tactics, ashamed to admit to once being a member. most people are better off without a gun, they'll never train or commit, they'll just be dangerous idiots. in a perfect world, I'd be the only one with a gun and I'd still conceal carry. if your reading this and the closest gun to you is in a box, in a drawer, just leave it there.

I don't know what has gotten a burr under your saddle, but I agree with the other poster that you are being a little harsh here.

Sure, a lot of new gun buyers will not become practitioners like you, but the more people that are gun owners the better chance we have to keep the current 2nd amendment rights that most of us currently enjoy.

The NRA may be a bit overzealous, but you will not find another group that is more rabidly single minded in helping to keep our 2nd amendment rights. Sure, they seem harsh at times and are always asking for more money, but in reality, who do you want in the front guard in this matter, Feinstein or Pelosi?

My daughter never wanted a gun, until she moved out and was living at a church camp by herself. After a few spooky nights of wind noises and coyotes howling and other night time noises, she asked me if I would help her get a gun. Surprised the hell out of me, but I was happy to see she had decided to take responsibility for her own safety. I bought her a 6 shot .38 special, ear protection, she wears glasses already so she had eye protection, and a cleaning kit, practice and self defense ammo. We spent some time going over the safety rules, then went to the indoor range, where she shot the pistol. She didn't wave it around and kept it pointed down range or at the floor, like I had taught her, and she did really well. She was hitting the target pretty well by the time we ran out of practice ammo. I also gave her a speed loader so she could dump another 6 in the cylinder quickly. I showed her a few different types of semi-autos, and revolvers, and she decided a revolver would be best for her, and I agreed.

I hate to impose on 2nd amendment rights, but perhaps they should require first time hand gun purchasers to attend a short safety class. Or at least have the seller go over the safety rules with them, and give them a printed copy of them. I know what the one poster meant about newbies going to the range and waving the guns all over the place. I try to hit the range when there are just a couple of other shooters, once they get more than 3 or 4 other shooters, I start getting nervous and take a break and watch the other shooters, if I don't like what I see, then I leave.

Like marc says...it's not a perfect world. But I'd rather deal with the idiots at the range than infringe upon the second ammendment. We seldom get back the freedoms we give away.
