Please contact your local Congressional and Senators to protest the approval of this Anti-gun Surgeon General nominee. It is feared this person will use the guise of health research to promote anti-gun propaganda.

Why not? It worked for tobacco control didn't it. They tried many things but when they put Coop in as Surgeon General and he started a major push it wasn't long until they had it accomplished. I don't condone smoking, but I do freedom to make your own choices. By the way. Marijuana is fine to smoke. Wonderful stuff.

Just to keep the record straight, I am 70 years old and have never touched marijuana or any other drug. Too high on life. Just being sarcastic. Just pi$$es me off to see the jacklegs puffing on that "illegal" crap on tv when someone who smokes a cigarette is an outlaw. What a screwed up society we hath.

While I generally feel that tobacco companies have been taking some ridiculous hard legal hits about the safety of their product until recently, I feel that whacky tobaccy should have even more places that you cannot use(smoke) it than tobacco is currently allowed here currently in Kalifornia.

Muggsy, the legall stuff they sell is grown by licensed growers, locally. No drug cartels are involved except in those places where it remains illegal under state laws. If it were legalized, I bet we'd see a decline in violence on both sides of the border. It wouldn't go away, since they would still fight over the cocaine and heroin they deal in. Pot does have legitimate uses, it helps a lot with the side effects of chemotherapy. I had a friend fight lung cancer, and has beat it so far, but the chemo was pretty devastating. Smoking pot was the only thing that helped her feel better. Also taking the concentrated oil from the buds orally, treats some forms of cancer, believe it or not. Just one case is a woman with an inoperable brain tumor that was given up to 6 months to live. She started taking the oil, and 3 years later she is still alive and doing fine. I know our generation was brainwashed to death with the "Reefer Madness" type movies and stuff, and all the commercials, "this is your brain, this is your brain on drugs". I'm not sure that those did more harm than good, as people tried pot, and found that their brain didn't fry, they figured that all those commercials were BS. Then some tried other things. Some didn't. I've found in my younger days, that I would rather be around pot heads, than drunks. There was a lot less stupidity and violence. Now I try and avoid both. The main reason it was made illegal, was kind of racist, black musicians were suspected of smoking pot, and the whites didn't want there kids that listened to black music, to get high on pot, and become "white slaves" addicted to pot. Now lowlifes of any race get the get the kids addicted to crack or heroin and use and abuse them.

If any of us think we can relax because we voted Republicans in HAD BETTER THINK AGAIN. The Republican leadership is NOT conservative. After all the he11 raising they did over Ovomitcare and the new "Immigration Policy", they just voted to fund it!!!! The old guard Repubs are doing everything they can to keep the new men we voted in from claiming any power at all. *****, McConnell and company are going to keep ki$$ing Ovomit's, Pelosi's and Reids a$$es behind the scene for 2 more years. Long enough to cause a lot of damage. Reid is going to sneak Murthy in during the Holidays. Murthy is to guns what Coop was to smoking. Once again, to be clear, I don't condone smoking but if my neighbor wants to have a cigarette it's his business, not mine. Murthy is an answer to their prayer. They will go about it slowly and carefully until they get their way, (just as Coop did), are out of office or die. Last I heard they called in "brainwashing the masses." Rom Emanuel's words.

Yes, the last election does seem to have been a waste of time. It seems like the country has been hacked and we're still entering our credit card numbers and personal information online as if everything's going to be fine.
