Dear Abby, I had a silhouette target come at me once. I shot it, but it kept coming at me. So I shot it again, and it eventually stopped. I wasn't harmed, but it looked wounded. Decades of experience show that fundamental shooting skills actually IMPROVES when you do not use the anatomically correct targets. Most students and even seasoned LEO's tend to shoot for the weapon being held and not center mass. I don't agree this is good legislation but the bad guy target is not a good teaching target as previously stated.

Actually even though I don't generally use bad guy targets they are not a bad thing just to practice not doing what you suggest. Zeroing in on the gun or knife or object instead of the face where you should focus your front sight.
The downfall to a standard bullseye target is when you go to human shape there is no defined point to aim at. Many people fall apart.

Well maybe a in a few cases folks fall apart because the target looks different, but I have never witnessed it happen or read after action reports saying this. A smart shooter uses a variety of targets. With variance it forces the human mind to adapt to the situation as it exists and does not channel thinking into only shooting at what they have seen before. I advocate shooting at child sized/looking targets along with women targets. Nobody gets to chose who attacks them so the greatest possible variety is good.

Yep his name is Hank Johnson and is probably the biggest idiot in the Georgia Congress but keeps getting elected no matter what dumb thing he does....His latest blabber is that he thinks the XL Pipeline is a bad idea because we shouldn't pass laws that allow evil rich corporatioins to make even more money and that it's safer to transport the crude by rail which keeps union rail workers in a job.......Hank Johnson is as dumb as a door knob but will be elected for life....
