What BHO doesn't want to face is the fact that special interests, lobbyist and especially most of the general public all support gun ownership. Most Americans are NOT STUPID! When you pick up the phone at 2 AM, dial 911, and report, "I hear someone downstairs." it is unlikely that the police will show up at your door within the next 5 minutes. In other words, until the police arrive, you are your own first line of defense.

Hey, he ain't no quitter! Seriously, that's the whole Constitution-killer's attitude...never give up and keep chipping away at our civil liberties. We can win in the short term but you only have to look at the past 50-60 years to see that the strategy is winning in the long run. IMHO the erosion of morals along with apathy are our biggest enemies. So kudos to the NRA for keeping up the guard. Also to public figures like Rand Paul who, while a longshot to actually win, is doing a good job of getting the loss of our liberties into the limelight.

Speaking of chipping away, I heard on the news this morning Trinity Church of New York, who owns stock in Wal-Mart is suing them to quit selling guns and ammo. Probably won't work but chipping away, it is. Their lawyers said there will probably be a temporary injunction to make them stop until it's settled and they are forced to quit. What's next? Suing GM to stop selling cars? A lot of folks say not to worry about our guns as we have so many Republicans in congress. Are we really naive enough to believe that? We forget about the "pen" and "phone" and the fact the Repubs have been pretty helpless so far.

why do you assume "liberals" are anti-gun nuts? Reagan's press secretary, James Brady wasn't a liberal he was just a guy who got paralyzed in a shooting.
Larry Flynt isn't a liberal, just a cheap pornographer. (Joseph Paul Franklin, the guy who shot Flynt had ties to evangelical Christianity, the National Socialist White People's Party and the Ku Klux Klan does that make Franklin a "conservative?)
