I have no problem with what two consenting adults do behind closed doors. Just don't call it a marriage and cheapen what my wife and I share. By definition a marriage is the union of a man and a woman for life. If the gays wanted equal rights they could opt for a civil union. By definition a marriage is the union of a man and a woman. Change the definition of marriage and marriage no longer exists. If love conquers all then a widowed man should be allowed to marry his daughter if they both love each other. Two men and one woman should be allowed to wed. One man and six women should be allowed to wed. It's a very slippery slope. Marriage is the glue that's supposed to bind families together for the benefit of a society. It not a thing to be trifled with. Every great empire has fallen with the fall of morality. Rights should not be based on sexual preference. If homosexuality isn't a preference then we should be seeking a cure for it.

I think that morality is the glue that binds a family and a society together, not marriage specifically. I also think that sexual preference shouldn't have anything to do with the rights granted or given. We're all just people, made of star stuff. I also think that your sexual preference should not get you anything that someone with a different preference does or doesn't get. Discrimination is wrong in any form it takes, as is racism, religious persecution, etc. If you choose to believe in the Bible, or any other religious texts, please make sure to remember that those are now YOUR beliefs. I understand that most, if not all religions make it their duty to convert or witness to as many people as possible. That's all well and good, but some of us just don't want to be brainwashed any more than modern society and indoctrination has already done. I keep an open mind, and do not judge anyone based on their religion, sexual preference, skin color, or any other criteria. I judge people based on if they're an arsehole or not. I don't like arseholes, especially drunk arseholes.

I judge everyone by all those things, they are or can be the ingredients that create an arsehole and I too hate arseholes, except when I'm drunk and probably are one myself. But I don't drink much, wake up enough feeling poorly due to natural causes, don't need to help it with the devils kool aid.

The threat is forcing a person or mom and pop company to do something they object to, especially if they object because of their faith, whichever faith it is. That will be the beginning of the erosion of all our freedoms. If you don't believe me look at England. They DO NOT enjoy the same freedom of speech that we enjoy.

That being said I believe in equal opportunity for everyone, special treatment for none, and discrimination of none based on their beliefs. Whether it's accepted or not the values and strengths that our country was built on (like hard work) are being eaten away every day by political correctness. I work for a company and see political correctness and favoritism of minority groups daily. I better stop now because I've already had to backspace through lines that would make me a target.

Some people just like to stir the stew, to see if potatoes or carrots come to the top. There are a lot of people on this forum(myself included) that are of the over 50 set.............................you guys should be used to this stuff by now.
