This is a bad omen for all policeman in America. If they can't do their job without of fear of being charged for doing it, they are unable to keep the peace. They should all go on strike for 2 weeks and let the crimes work themselves out. No arrests for 2 weeks then vote to return or stay out longer.

Being charged is a long way from a conviction. She has way overcharged the officers in a move to pander to the ghetto community. IMHO this will blow up in her ignorant face.

The trouble is, now that charges have been filed, if they aren't convicted the riots are going to start all over again. All she did was buy some time. Murder charges were a little bit overboard, perhaps Manslaughter would have been more appropriate if she felt she had to file some charges.

I have a feeling this Freddie Gray was some sort of known hoodlum, that they weren't able to catch with the goods on him, and they took the opportunity to teach him some respect for the law, except it didn't work out as planned.

What worries me is that if this riot crap keeps up, people are going to get fed up, and a full fledged race war, or a Good Guy vs Thugs war is going to break out. And the way the administration has been caught sending instigators into these situations, that may play right into their hands. Then comes the gun confiscations, and martial law, and there goes our country. This country has never been so divided along so many different lines. Brought to us by the President that campaigned on reducing racial divisions, and a having transparent administration.

If I read Gray's arrest and conviction record correctly he should have been in prison until sometime next year. Early release?

you certainly ran with the scenario to its extremes but I get what you are saying. Perhaps she went with those charges to get a little wiggle room for these guys. I don't know how the system works though. We need an attorney here to give us the ins and outs of this charge and where it can and cannot go. It might actually play to their favor in the long run? Different requirement for the jury to convict? Anyone??

Definitely not a saint but the laws in this land do not allow execution of drug dealers as a punishment no matter how much you find it fitting.

With everything that is going on these days, I think the cops need to start thinking about their actions. It just amazes me some of the misconduct I've seen when they should know cameras are everywhere. Think think think.

Freddie Gray was a subhumanoid mongrel punk. If he had been in jail, where he belonged, eh would not have been in a position to have died.

Could she also be playing both sides of the fence. She knows that the charges will not hold up. Maybe she is soothing the rioters/protestors and also slapping the wrists of the LEOs?? Just asking. Is the question even valid?
