Is our "freedom" just an illusion? Are we really modern day slaves of the government and big money elite? I don't think we are near as free as we would like to think, because we have been conditioned to be government slaves by the education system, and don't know any better.

I think freedom started slipping away, not long after the early 1800's, then took a major hit during the War of Northern Aggression, and really got walloped when they foisted the Federal Reserve Central Bank on us, Despite the many warnings of our founding fathers that we should NEVER allow a central bank to control our currency, or as Thomas Jefferson said "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered...I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

LOL, I already knew most of that, I just saw it posted on another site and thought some here might be interested to find out what we are.
Besides the weather here hasn't been much better than Texas and Oklahoma. The range is a mud pit.
I may leave with nothing, but where I'm going I won't be in need of anything.

I'd give you my blessing Mugs, but that might send ya the wrong direction. I'll have my daughter, the one that's ordained, put in a good word for you. I'm sure that will workout much better.
I think that the biggest problem with this country, is not enough people give a thought or don't care where they will spend eternity. The only concern is what's in it for me NOW. Science or money is the new God.
One nice thing if we make it upstairs, is we won't have to put up with any more politician's lies, BS, and twisting the truth. Maybe a few might get in, some of the founding fathers and early Statesmen from the time when they still had character, honesty, and honor. That leaves out about anyone after the early 1800's. After that, they started turning into the pack of thieves and liars that we're stuck with nowadays. Sure there are exceptions, but the biggest part of them can't be trusted. Particularly if they have a "D" after their name.
Funny, I was doing some reading about Truman, and he had his own IRS scandal. About the same crap as the one going on now. Not much ever changes in D.C., and if it does, it seems it's for the worse. I'm just a history buff and enjoy reading and watching videos about the past. they say if you don't learn from it you will repeat it. From what I've seen, the powers that be didn't learn much, except how to get caught with their hand in the cookie jar less often. And how to sneak things past the watchdogs easier.
