fail #1-- "....covert tests conducted by the agency's inspector general found that TSA screeners at airports failed to detect prohibited items 95 percent of the time." but they got a lot of free shampoo. TSA director fired.

fail #2---- "....extend the blackout of surveillance that began Monday night with the blocking of any extension of the National Security Agency’s spying authority". collecting "meta-data" from everybodies phones and emails has led to the arrest of how many terrorists?
how many attacks(Boston Marathon) has any of this stopped?

does any of this neocon bs make anybody feel safer?

I respect anyone who works for a living, BUT............................most of these TSA screeners are ex bus drivers and fast food workers. If you can pass a drug screen, you can be a TSA screener.

Isn't there a maximum intelligence limit? That you are not eligible if you have over a certain IQ? Plus applicants must show a total lack of common sense?

I've never figured out what "neocon" means. I've never known anyone who claimed to be one.

I fully support the NSA gathering meta data. I refuse to fear my own government more that the terrorists who have sworn to kill us. There has never been one documented case where the gathering of meta data has harmed a single American citizen. Every request for a wire tap has to be cleared by the FISA Court. You won't know how many terrorist threats have been stopped by the NSA, because revealing that information would compromise the program and our national security. Screw that fear monger Rand Paul.

Neoconservatism (commonly shortened to neocon) is a political movement born in the United States during the 1960s. Many of its adherents rose to political fame during the Republican presidential administrations of the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Neoconservatives peaked in influence during the administrations of George W. Bush, George H W Bush and Tony Blair, when they played a major role in promoting and planning the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[1] Prominent neoconservatives in the Bush administration included Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, John Bolton, Elliott Abrams, Richard Perle, and Paul Bremer.
The term "neoconservative" refers to those who made the ideological journey from the anti-Stalinist left to the camp of American conservatism.[2] Neoconservatives frequently advocate the promotion of democracy and promotion of American national interest in international affairs, including by means of military force(as long as it's not their family or any rich kids in the front lines).
(if you ever do meet somebody who claims to be one, ya got a CM9, use it.)

^^^^^ Exactly. And if we get attacked, those same people will be asking why the government didn't catch them before they acted. Can't have it both ways. I'm not doing anything wrong, so they aren't going to spying on me. If they do, they will see I'm boring, and go on. Now that the phone lines are open, we might see some action soon, the terrorists are laughing.

Regarding the TSA issue, it doesn't surprise me at all. I fly a lot and have seen quite a bit that backs up the story. For example, I was going thru security at the airport in Milwaukee. Lady in front of me takes not one but two gallon size bags full of cosmetics and stuff out of her bag and puts them thru the xray thing. I ask the TSA guy "are gallon size bags legal now?" He replies that only quart ones are, and only one per person. I told him that the lady in front of me just put two gallon bags thru. I was then told to worry about my own stuff.... to which I replied "I am. My stuff is behind hers. I'm concerned that my stuff might be delayed because of hers". It ended there, he didn't respond. He seemed to have a bit of a Napoleon complex and also got off on his "power".

Was going through TSA airport security in Harlingen, Texas about 10 years ago when they asked the 80+ year old lady in front of us to step into the nearby "screening room" for an extra "check". Later when she came out, she told us the female TSA clerk told her to take off her blouse, then took everything out of her carryon for a detailed search.

In the meantime a couple of Pablo Escobar types breeze right through security with no problem.

I haven't been on a plane since before the 911 attacks. Guess things have changed some.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. Said by Benjamin Franklin.
Ignore it though. Freedom, liberty and personal privacy matter little when our super efficient feds are on the job. After all the gov't wouldn't lie to us - now would they? I have never done anything wrong but who I talk to, what I say and where I go is non of their f***ing business. Their "programs" sure have worked well so far haven't they? TSA is a wonderful example. Secret Service? CIA lies? Winners.
