  • Government to Sell Strategic Oil Surplus

Buy high and sell low, no wonder this country is going to hell. Who the hell comes up with this? Why are they still allowed to be in charge of anything? Why are we selling our strategic oil supply in the first place? I know not all of it but it's there just in case. Just unbelievable. I guess this way we can support more illegal immigrants. They are more important than legal, documented citizens.

Do you have a link? All I could find was articles from Mar of 2014 about this. It wouldn't surprise me, but where did you hear or read about this?

      http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...-to-raise-cash

      Highlights:

The U.S. plans to sell millions of barrels of crude oil from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve from 2018 until 2025 under a budget deal reached on Monday night by the White House and top lawmakers from both parties.

Supporters of the sale argue the U.S. doesn’t require such a big emergency reserve as rising domestic production on the back of the shale boom offsets the need for imports.

If we go to an all nuke Navy we won't need as much oil.

Our planes and tanks still run on petroleum based products, JP5. Not to mention Humvees etc.We bought that stuff at $140.00 a barrel now selling it a $40.00 a barrel? Sheesh.

They're not losing any money on that, they bought it with our money.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

If they would put up wind turbines around the District of Corruption we wouldn't need oil reserves at all.

The hot air emanating from there would power the nation.

58m barrels at today's spot price $45.31 a barrel is $2.6 billion. That is 7/100 of one percent of current Federal spending, or less than one day's worth.

Either they're lying to us about the reason, or they're stupid morons. Or both.

The way Obama has been lately, it may be a move to weaken us. If the SHTF, we'll have less.

We will be buying it back at triple the selling price and it will probably never leave the tank it is stored in right now. I smell a rat. Cars still run on gas and oil and millions more cars are built every year.
