    http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-...028-story.html

I really don't understand why anyone would want to become a Police Officer anymore....I'm sure by now everyone has seen the video of the Officer having to remove a female student from a classroom by force because she thought that the rules didn't apply to her....I will agree that he got a little rough with the kid but people need to learn that if you disobey a cop then you might find yourself face down on the concrete which is how it should be if you want Law and Order....

I understand that now the student is complaining of neck, back, arm and facial injuries...I see where this is going, sue the County, sue the Police, sue the Police Officer and anybody else the parents think they can get a buck out of because their (if there's a father in the house) little innocent darling daughter had her civil rights abused by Whitey just because she was Black....Calling Al, Calling Jessie, Calling Obama and his Justice Department time to Lawyer Up....Like sharks after blood in the water....

In my day if I had done something like that the female teacher would go get Coach Hodges or Coach Callahan who would be more than happy to bounce my ars all the way down to the principals office where "The Persuader" a sawed off boat paddle with holes drilled in it would become acquainted with my backside and after my Father was called I would get it again when he got home....Funny how we never seemed to have problems like this and we didn't need a Police Officer in the school to keep order because we knew what would happen if we misbehaved.....

I am interested in what others think about this situation and what the officer should of, could of done differently to resolve the problem....Should he have tazed her, used pepper spray, picked up both she and the desk and carried her out of the school to the parking lot or maybe he should have just said, Oh you're Black, I'm sorry to have bothered you, never mind, continue on with whatever you're doing and have a nice day.......

You're right. These "kids" don't respect authority, they don't respect peoples property, they don't respect others for anything. What was he to do? That girls wasn't going to comply, period. So what do you do? Nothing, that's what we do now. People are going to stop wanting to be cops, and the ones on duty either won't engage or just quit and do something else. And lawlessness will prevail. Society is going back to the middle ages because it is not pc to uphold the law.

      And then there's this.

YouTube deleted the video. But a cop slamming a student is ok though.

All my years in school I don't recall ever seeing an officer at school. Now we got one stationed at the high school everyday.

Exactly. I think I still have the marks on the back of my legs from the paddle with the holes drilled in it, only to be augmented by my father when I got home! Not to excuse the over-reaction of the cop, but a large part of the blame belongs with the parents of the girl (or lack thereof) for failing to instill in her any respect for authority. You couldn't pay me enough money to be a teacher these days.

I have grown up my entire life with officers in HS and Middle School. Here in OK it is and has been common for decades.

You would think you would need officers in schools even less. Generally you have a better class of folks down your direction.

I don't think the officer overreacted at all myself. What message does it send to this girl and other students if he just walks away. Do whatever you want, they can't do nuthin to ya.

Now they try to turn it around teach a lesson to the cop, his chief even said it made him sick. (really).

Cop gotta learn to respect the minority and children that don't wanna do what he tell em to.

I had a math teacher in about 6th grade as I recall. Stern but fair type, had had a stroke, his left side was dead, kind of drug his left leg and arm around. Drove an old pickup stick shift, was the teacher leader of the ski club, guy did a lot of stuff.

One day the biggest kid in the class got mouthy, don't recall the exact details but that teacher grabbed him by the back of the neck and I swear he bounced him off every locker all the way down the very long hall to the principles office.
The class was very respectful and there were no further issues in that classroom.

Strange I got along good with the guy, all you had to do was what he asked and you were fine. Many were scared senseless of the man... go figure.

Black student, white cop, bad situation there. Probably not much he could have done that wouldn't have been called "police abuse" by some people. Since when does a kid sliding a few feet along the floor become "throwing her across the class room"? Looks to me like she had a death grip on that desk, and it took a bit of force to get her to turn loose of it and she slid across the floor a couple feet. It's not like he picked her up and actually threw her through the air. Yeah, sickening to watch is right, sickening that we have idiots that think they can just do as they please, and disrupt the class with no consequences. I suppose he could have tased her or something, would that have gone over better? She'll probably get some big settlement out of the deal, and next week they'll be 5 girls doing the same thing looking to make some money. Why do they let kids in class with cell phones anyway? They should make them leave them in their lockers, or be confiscated and donated to someone that needs one.

The FBI chief has now said the anti-police hype and rhetoric has led to a significant rise in violent crime in the cities. He's not long for that job.

I remember those days. I got my tail busted once for disrespect. I called the school janitor Bear (well he was a big guy.) I deserved it.

I'm betting that the officer will get his job back if he wants it. There is more than one video and the videos show that the office used restraint. Other kids in the class who witnessed the incident are saying that the officer acted properly. He was only called in after the girl refused to cooperate with the teacher and a school administrator. If I were this officer I'd consider doing something easier to make a living, like brain surgery.

He is totally spot on true. A society that makes war with its law enforcers had better get ready to kiss the keisters of is law violators. As long as my family and friends are not negatively affected I am good. As to the rest of society hit your knees and start smooching cause my give a flip meter is in negative numbers right now!!!

Had to go to Bakersfield last week on business and saw help wanted signs for police officers wired to fences. Years ago it was selective waiting lists to even apply and had to attend academy on your own nickle. Now I wonder if they may have slipped standards a tad or two.
