I don't much care to listen to "blowhard" Rush, but he does get a lot of things right. This recent article on WND.com caused me some concern:

Why bother with the election then, just install Hillary and kiss our country goodbye. I suppose we better learn to speak Chinese.

I don't believe that we elected a GOP majority in both houses to get along and play nice with the Democrats. I think we expected more of a return to conservative policies, and smaller more efficient government, and not what the likes of Boehner and McConnell have been doing. I hate when Democrats control one of the section of Congress, and ram things down our throats, then we get a GOP majority, that refuses to flex their muscle because they don't want to look bad in the polls or be seen as too conservative or whatever their problem is. So the house passes a budget bill to increase the deficit another few trillion, as if we have that money buried in the back yard somewhere, when as Rand Paul says, we have to borrow a million dollars a minute to keep this bloated government going. And then complain they don't make enough money, while denying those on Social Security another Cost of Living increase. If we'd eliminate some of the pork, and the wasteful spending in government agencies, I wonder how many billions would be saved?
I think a good place to start is eliminating or trimming down many of the bloated alphabet bureaucracies that cause more trouble than they are worth. The EPA, NEA, IRS, (along with simplifying the tax code), and others. Here is a list of most of the agencies of he Federal Government.

I wonder how much money is wasted at each one of these, and how many efforts are duplicated by multiple agencies, or one agency fighting against what another agency is doing? And I imagine it's like any corporate division, you make sure you use up all the money that is budgeted to you, so that you don't have your budget cut for the next year. If they would cut the waste, they would probably find plenty of money for a COLA for those on Social Security. Screw Congress and their pay raise, they get one automatically every year unless they vote not to accept it, like that it going to happen, If anything they deserve a pay cut. Maybe then they would not be so anxious to make a living out of being a congressman, plus they are free to get away with insider trading and other shady practices that would land most people in prison? It's seems like taxpayers pay for most of their expenses anyway.
