My first thoughts are, here is a guy running to be the head executive of the government, saying he's not going to do his job of enforcing existing laws.
On a better note, however many "illegals" are here, be it 10 million, or 12 million... Can you round 'em all up all at once? No. Nobody is suggesting that either, that I can see. Can you have a policy in place that enforces previously unenforced law, and deports folks here illegally when they are encountered? Sure can!
But but... illegals do the jobs that Americans wont do! Rubbish. Americans wont do for under-the-table wages. Used to be, being a tree trimmer, carpenter, concrete worker, any sort of manual laborer... was a good job, and paid pretty well. Used to be, some established individual ran that yard service, and brought in young guys who would run a mower and blower, and sweep up the driveways and trim the hedges - for young guys wages. I knew many a friend that worked summers for yard crews back in the day. And there were college guys who loved the extra income and flexible schedules too, during the whole year. Yes, they got paid unskilled worker's wages. And they knew it was just a step on the road of life, and they went on to do better, more skilled work. Or, heck, maybe they stuck at it and opened their own service businesses with some experience. Now most young folks want it all right away.
Sad.
