I'm inclined to agree with you, but then I remembered Kent State University..........."Tin soldiers and Nixon coming, 4 dead in O-hi-o".....(Neil Young). Still sends chills down my spine and brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear that song.Dan Wesson 1911 Valkyrie Commander

What 1911 did you look at? Inquiring small minds want to know, ya know?Originally posted by JohnR View PostMaybe this thread is a sign. I went to the LGS today to fondle a 1911 I'd read about, and noticed they had Blazer .45ACP FMJ in a 1000 round box. I forget the price but it was reasonable. I really liked the 1911 I checked out, but I think I'll stick with the .45s I have and just buy more ammo.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

Rock Island "Ultra" (double stack), GI style. It's not noticeably heavier than a normal 5", and the grip fills my hand better. 14+1 of 45, but for some ungodly reason they sell the GI with a 10 round mag. Their tacticool version comes with s 14 rounder. The GI sights are exactly that, no dots. Spur hammer and rat tail. Nice trigger.Originally posted by Bawanna View PostWhat 1911 did you look at? The upgraded doublewides have good sights, whale tail, ambi safety, grooved front strap, huge flared magwell, and a rail. Bleah. Crisper trigger, but the GI trigger has a nicer face texture.

Does that include Bawanna's son?Originally posted by JohnR View PostDon't forget that this admin purged non-loyalists from the military. The ones who remain may be sadistic bass turds who can't wait to fire on civilians.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

There wouldn't have been any dead in Ohio had the students chosen to obey the law. They were read the riot act and were told to disburse. Instead they chose to disobey the law and back the national guard into a corner. The kids who died were the same age as the guardsmen who killed them.Originally posted by shlike View PostI'm inclined to agree with you, but then I remembered Kent State University..........."Tin soldiers and Nixon coming, 4 dead in O-hi-o".....(Neil Young). I meant upper management, as you already know.Originally posted by muggsy View PostDoes that include Bawanna's son?
I bought some ammo this weekend, fairly inexpensive, and wondered why I'm buying ammo when I have a bunch and am not in dire need. I had to remind myself that just because it's cheap and plentiful now, doesn't mean I can get complacent.

Do you think that Bawanna's son would follow those orders? I don't. I think that it's far more likely that our military would frag any officers who gave those orders.Originally posted by JohnR View PostI meant upper management, as you already know.

True enough. That's one way to look at it. However they were just typical, dumb, un-armed college students who were trying to stick flowers into the muzzles of the NG rifles. Less lethal means could have been used. I'm sure the NG soldiers were terrified, and were caught between a rock and a hard place; they were ordered to fire on the students. I wasn't there (at Kent State), so I don't really know for sure, but I was in the military during Vietnam and I remember the insanity of that war and the insanity of the politicians who ran it. 60,000 US soldiers died for no good reason. It was a dark time for this country....Originally posted by muggsy View PostThere wouldn't have been any dead in Ohio had the students chosen to obey the law.
