Muggsy, why are you so gung ho on Cruz. He's not done a damn thing except be a lawyer for few years and then went into politics. Trump has built businesses, made lots of money, employed thousands of people. I think this country needs a businessman, more than it needs another politician in the White House. This country IS a business, and needs to be run like one. Yes, he may screw some people, but so can anyone other President. I think at least Trump would lube us up before ramming it home. There is no way he can be as bad as what we have now.
You can jump up and down about Cruz all you want, but it won't change anything. Trump has even turned his no show in the debate Thursday, into a positive for Iowans, by hosting a benefit for Iowa veterans. I do think he should have done the debate, but that's his choice. I'm worried that if either Trump or Cruz seems headed to for the nomination, then the GOP will pull some tricks to get one of their puppets, Bush or Rubio the nomination. I wouldn't be surprised if they even tried to terminate Trump, and blame it on some patsy.
Trump has support from minorities, and democrats, while Cruz may get some Hispanic votes, most of the Democrats I've talked to would not vote for him, but would vote for Trump. And what are these horrible New York values you keep bringing up. I would have thought gun control, but he seems to be against that.
I worked for 18 years in an office that had probably 50 New Yorkers working in it, and most of them were pretty decent people. A couple were buttholes, but so were some of the locals they hired. How many New Yorkers do you know? I not only worked with the ones locally, but many in the New York Home Office, and they were pretty decent too. And treated me very well on my trips to NYC. No crap about being a hick from Kansas or any of that stuff.
I myself am tired of the lifelong politicians in the White House, I'm am ready to try something different. Trump or Carson, and Carson doesn't seem to have much of a chance. I'll vote for Cruz if he gets the nomination, but I doubt that he will. I'd also venture to say that putting on a benefit for Iowa Veterans is going to get him a lot more votes in Iowa, than appearing in the debate will.

I'm high on Cruz because he stood before the supreme court in Heller V. Washington, D.C. and won a ruling that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right rather than a collective right. Cruz has an A+ rating from the NRA. Cruz talks the talk and walks the walk. He stands by his principles and doesn't make deals with anyone. He far better educated than any of the other candidates and he's also the most conservative of all of the candidates with a 97 percent rating from the Conservative Review. He's only been married once and isn't in the race for publicity or self promotion. This is probably our last chance to correct the course of this nation. I'm putting my trust in a true conservative and not in an unprincipled narcissistic billionaire conservative come lately with a bad comb over.

I don't know that Trump has ever claimed to be a Conservative. I'd call him more of a moderate. I can't find anyplace where he has claimed to be a conservative. Others have tried to label him as one, and he hasn't said anything about it that I can find.

If Cruz ends up as President, he'd better learn to compromise, or he may not get much done. Presidents don't always get what they want from Congress.

A republican House and Senate aren't going to go against a republican president. He holds a veto pen and they would be committing suicide. The people don't want a moderate republican in the White House. The losses of McCain and Romney proved that.

This is not a decision about Conservative/Moderate/Liberal or Republican/Independent/Democrat.

This is about applying effective proven leadership to break up and repudiate the entrenched dysfunctional government establishment. This is about restoring America by delivering it back to the People. The government has sadly evolved to the point where today those in office expect that the People work for the government, and the government controls their lives to keep them in line, like sheep. Well, no more! The originally designed role of the United States government is to work for the People, and this must be restored in order to save our Country.

Donald Trump is the Change Agent, the catalytic leader who causes the reaction to occur without it changing him. He is not building up an empire for him. He is delivering America back to the PEOPLE.

Understand, the Constitution does NOT define what the government can do. Not at all. Rather, every sentence of the Constitution, every sentence, is written to define what the government cannot do. Said another way, it defines the LIMITS of the role and the scope of the government in the lives of the People.

The current state of governmental affairs and operating principles is non-Constitutional, and must be ended to restore this Great Country to it's founding principles. Donald Trump is that Change Agent to Make America Great Again!

Has trump given any indication of how he plans to build a wall and have Mexico pay for it? Has Trump explained how he'll accomplish any of the things that he says he'll do for the country? Nailed it. In the 80's and 90's you couldn't do anything large and business related in NY and NJ without dealing with the mob. The unions had everything tied up and the mob ran the unions. They weren't right to work states and you couldn't get workers without dealing with the unions. Lived there in '84 and that was my experience as a worker. I wanted to get out of the AFL-CIO and represent myself was told I couldn't. Dues were manditory if you wanted to work.
