Why did CNN call your lifelong liberal a conservative Republican in 1988?

Considering the fact that Donald Trump supported Hillary Clinton for president saying that he was the best qualified candidate, I have no idea. Considering the fact that Donald Trump donated thousands of dollars to the Clinton Foundation, I have no idea. Considering the fact that Donald Trump donated thousands of dollars to to the campaigns of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Shumer, I have no idea. Considering the fact that Donald Trump didn't register as a republican until just three years ago, I have no idea. What do you think John?

If I knew him personally I'd ask. But I won't let my passions blind me into ignoring evidence that doesn't fit my pre-conceived notions about him. I'm very wary and cautious about him.

To those of you who think that it was wrong of us to go to war with Iraq remember this. Iraq invaded Kuwait. A war ensued and Saddam Hussein signed a ceasefire agreement to end the hostilities. He then violated the terms of that ceasefire agreement by ejecting the U.N. inspectors who were to oversee the destruction and accounting of his weapons of mass destruction. When Saddam did that it was tantamount to issuing a declaration of war against us. Do any of you really believe that removing Saddam Hussein from power was a bad thing? I don't. We defeated the most powerful military in the Middle East and captured Saddam Hussein in less than a year with minimal losses on our side. Trump has accused Bush of destabilizing the middle east. Iran and Iraq had been at war for eight years before Bush took power.

Iran and Iraq were at constant war with each other. As such they kept each other occupied. If we hadn't invaded and upset the balance they would still be at it. There would be no nuclear bomb threat. There would have been no "Arab Spring????." Isis wouldn't have been formed in the vacuum we left. We keep sticking our nose in other peoples business and we'll get it chopped off. That's us. The world's police force - totally impotent.

A lot of people have been making comparisons between Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. I don't recall President Reagan ever being coarse or crude in his speeches or comments. I don't recall President Reagan ever bad mouthing a fellow republican with whom he disagreed. I don't recall President Reagan verbally attacking a woman. I do recall President Reagan as being a role model for our children and grandchildren. I knew President Reagan."The Donald" is no President Reagan.

You're damn right I'm biased, Tim. I'm biased toward freedom, conservatism and upholding our constitution. In that regard I'm probably the most biased guy on this website. I gave up six years of my life on active duty in military service defending those ideals when the liberals were dodging the draft and running off to Canada. I'm 42 years a life member of the NRA biased. I'm right wing biased as all hell.

Pro-liberty, me too. Which liberties will any candidate restore? Repeal 0care? Good start. Repeal excessive regulations? Who proposes to do that? Lower tax rates and/or simplify the tax code? Reign in the ATF? Eliminate the Education dep't? The EPA?
