So why aren't they? I thought Ryan was a rock solid conservative. Why is Cruz hated, if he can do conservatism better than Trump?

Issues are the deck chairs on the Titanic. Has no one noticed that all the issues we test ourselves on NEVER get resolved? Why, after four decades, are we still saying abortion is a national campaign issue? Why is welfare still an issue? LBJ said The Great Society would have "those n****s voting Democrat for the next 200 years." He was one hell of a con man, and his shills screech "racist!" at anyone who challenges the welfare system. Social Security? "They want to push granny off the cliff." Education - our current system started dumbing Americans down a century ago, and NOTHING has been done to reverse it. Budget deficit? National Debt? There's a reason those are never addressed. As long as we are distracted by "issues" that will never be resolved, we have no energy left to notice the damn ship is sinking.

Ted Cruz is as rock solid, constitutional conservative as you will ever find. Trump really spouted the "Cruz is a mean, nasty guy, and no one in the Senate likes him" mantra because that's exactly what he perceived from mccain, mcconnel and all the other hard core establishment repubs. Yep, they hate Cruz because he's been exposing them for what they are since we sent him (Cruz) from Texas to DC .... to start cleaning up the mess.

Personally, I would rather Texas revert back to what we were "pre-1845", and we had a chance to make Cruz "our president". Then y'all can have whatever form of government you want to risk.

And I do hope if it ends up that no one candidate has the 50+% of the electoral votes (since there's still 4 candidates eating into the electoral votes), that everyone understands the difference between "contested" and "brokered" at convention time.

There's been way too much emotional testosterone flaunted during this primary, and it would be a shame if 35% of the so called "anybody but hillary" voters threw a total tantrum and stayed home in November. Just to add .... I still don't think "the beast" will be the dem nominee come November ... and it won't be "the bern". I figure the dems will drag out crazy joe, and his running mate "the Indian girl" .... oh, there could still be a bloomy in the "independent mix". Even more contorted would be if trump decides he isn't treated fairly and runs independent - thus a 4 way split in November. Make it even more conspiratorial and figure "thu wun" works out a way to declare the entire election null and void, declares himself another term and .....

This is just all too crazy .... might as well be junior high ...

That shows how little he cares about our sons and daughters and it's a damn good indication of what he thinks of our sons and daughters. They're just his little pawns.
Well it seems that less than a day after the debate "The Donald" has changed his mind on using torture and now has come out against it....This Nut Burger changes his mind on major issues so willy nilly like it's hard to follow what he's talking about....Ya'll sure you want this idiot to be your President???

Ryan is a rock solid tea party conservative. Cruz is hated by establishment republicans, because he a rock solid conservative who won't compromise on his core values. The first thing necessary to secure change is having a majority in both houses and a rock solid conservative in the White House. The problem with some of you is that you expect everything to change over night. The democrats controlled our government for more than forty years. The slide toward socialism was incremental. During Obama's first term the had control of the House and a veto proof Senate. Don't piss away all of our recent gains by voting for an a-hole like Donald Trump. And he is an a-hole. Let me tell you.

Yep, after 40+ years of nearly nothing it took Newt and the Republican Revolution in 1994 to rein in the liberal advances. Like him or not, Newt orchestrated a conservative movement although he was vilified by the media (led by the liberals) and the mushbrained public fell for everything they said. Newt wasn't a perfect human being .... and there has been only one of those to my knowledge, but he did make some headway for the conservative movement. In the next few years the conservative movement (party wise) got watered down with the belief that the only chance for survival was to compromise .... aka "make deals". After a very short stint of conservative gains, now almost 20 years later we are considering a "deal maker" to lead the party?

                  Unbelievable.

I think what's happening is, we the people feel like every last one of "them" are corrupt, crooks, frauds, phonies, and fakes, Trump included of course. So why not back someone who's actually good at it. They feel Trump is a sonofabitch, but he's "our" sonofabitch.

Your team is losing. You tell the coach, "Put me in! I'll play hard, run the ball, and score!" So he puts you in and you just stand there and let the other team score. Coach says, "WTF happened?!?!" You say, "Hey, you didn't put in enough good players like me, so I figured why bother?"

                            Or...

They get the Top Secret briefing where the Shadow Government says, "Guess what? Your ass is ours now. Forget 'issues,' those were just the candy to lure voters into thinking they matter. Now you do our bidding, or you'll sleep in Scalia's bed."
