In WWII you only received a purple heart if you were hospitalized. You didn't get one for a scratch. My best friend Jack received a Silver Star, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster. He left a leg and an eye in Vietnam. His tank was hit by an RPG and he was blown off of it. Though badly wounded, Jack kept the enemy from over running his tank and save the lives of his fellow tank crew members. Jack wasn't drafted. He volunteer to serve. Which man would you call a hero, John? In my opinion, John Kerry was and is a cowardly, self-serving, traitor and a disgrace to the uniform.

I actually don't hold any ill will towards those that tried to get out of going. It's the ones that protested and mistreated the ones that did go weather they wanted to or not that should be lined up against a wall and exterminated.
I tried desperately to get in, told that story many times and sometimes I'm thankful they wouldn't take me, but always semi ashamed too.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

Protesting
Re. protesting, we tell our (adult) kids we saved our protesting for old age and have photos in D.C. and elsewhere to prove it. This includes Tea Party protests, anti-Common Core (wife) and pro-gun (me).Originally posted by Bawanna View PostI actually don't hold any ill will towards those that tried to get out of going. In January, our grassroots Virginia Citizens Defense League turned out over 1200 members at the annual Lobby Day at the State Capitol and made the rounds of legislative offices complete with many rolls of our blaze orange "Guns Save Lives" stickers and a large promotional trailer circling the Capitol area. (See photos.)
We managed to get back all but a couple of the concealed carry reciprocity agreements (work continues on those) we had with about 30 other states before our Uber-scofflaw and Bloomberg beneficiary AG, Mark Herring, terminated them all by 'hisself' last December. Further, starting July 1 Virginia will finally recognize concealed carry permits from all other states.
We may be on our way out but we won't go quietly. Right, Muggsy?
P.S. The biggest problem Virginia has is our proximity to D.C.Last edited by Hawkeye; 03-06-2016, 01:05 PM.
