The NRA was established in 1871 to promote civilian marksmanship and gun safety. It had nothing to do with race. The Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) wasn't established until 1975 and is committed to preserving the rights of all law abiding citizens to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. While these gentleman may not have had their facts straight on why the NRA was established their second amendment rights are being protected by the NRA, as are yours, whether you choose to be a member or not. I've been a Life Member of the NRA since 1972.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.
